According to (R1.1E) and (R1.2E) in SFB Basic Set, starbases and battle stations possess either limited or full Aegis. (At this point, I don't have a copy of Module J, or the SFB Master Rulebook, to check the full details.)
Would this allowance mean that Main Era bases of these kinds (or other base types which in SFB gain access to some form of Aegis) should be covered under (3F) in FC, if they aren't already? And if so, would an Aegis-equipped base count towards the fleet limit listed under (3F2), or would they be granted an exception in this regard?
Also, would the same apply to the bases of the Middle Years, or had the technology yet to enter service back then?
And would the equivalent (Neo-)Tholian or Seltorian bases back in M81 forego access to Aegis fire control in FC, as part of the set of restrictions placed by SFB's (R7.60B) upon forces serving in the home galaxy? _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

Doing so would affect the current balance/dynamic of the FC game system.
What evidence have you that this balance/dynamic is wrong and needs adjusting?
Not every SFB rule comes over to FC and sometime that is done for a reason.
Will you next point out that all but one or two Klingon ships are subject to mutiny in SFB and then ask if they should be in FC? _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

In asking about this, it was more of a case of whether or not it was something that had been considered at the time the Aegis rules were incorporated into the Reference Rulebook, akin to the notes that were added for various bases in (5S7b) when special sensors were factored into a recent RRB revision.
Iif it was deemed not worth giving those bases Aegis when that system was being factored into "vanilla" FC, well and good. _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)
