Now Federation Commander: Academy is up on e23, DriveThru RPG, and Wargame Vault! Happy dance!

e23: http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ADB4003

DriveThru RPG: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/120332/Federation-Commander-Academy

Wargame Vault: http://www.wargamevault.com/product/120332/Federation-Commander-Academy

Includes what you need to play the game minus the dice, grease pen, and paper clip -- somehow they didn't do well as PDFs!

FLY A STARSHIP!

Your mission: Go boldly to the stars, defend honor, preserve liberty, discover new worlds, and bring your crew home. Take command of a Federation heavy cruiser and fight a Klingon D7 battlecruiser, or fly a Romulan War Eagle facing a Gorn Allosaurus battlecruiser. Captain, the ship is yours to command! Your orders, Sir?

Good news for Federation Commander players! Romulan Ship Card Pack #3 is now available.

Six of the newer Kestrel (Klingon-built) ships for those clever Romulans, including:

KC7 R Heavy Battlecruiser
K7R Battlecruiser
KD5WR New heavy Cruiser
KF5LR Destroyer Leader
KD5R War Cruiser
KF5WR War Destroyer

Plus a new scenario and graphics for counters in three sizes. This pack is in high resolution.

There are a few problems with the version of Federation Commander: Academy on e23.

The Romulan Ship Card that is included should be for the King Eagle NOT the War Eagle (the counters are for the KE, the photo in the ADB webstore shows the KE Ship Card is included with FC: Academy and the WE is completely outmatched by the other three ships in FC: Academy).

The explanation sheet (2nd page of the PDF) incorrectly says the War Eagle is included.

The Player Aid Card is Missing.

Excuse a question from someone who is still relativly new to FC. Are these new ships that have not previously appeared in the game, or are they just PDFs of ships that are already availble as hard-copy cards in one of the physical products? Thanks!

I can't check at the moment, and don't remember romulan ships like I remember others, but I'm sure there are brand new ships in there (unless they have appeared in communique).

You can probably check by looking at the master ships chart.

[edit]
KC7R Heavy Battlecruiser - There's a KCR in the master chart (Cl43), not sure whether that is the same thing?
K7R Battlecruiser - Reinforcement attack, and communiques
KD5WR New heavy Cruiser - Communique
KF5LR Destroyer Leader - Communique
KD5R War Cruiser - Communique
KF5WR War Destroyer - KF5W in communique, not sure whether that is the same thing?

Short answer Yes and Yes. The Epacks are High Resolution PDFs of Ship cards that have appeared somewhere else already. Such as a physical card in a module or as a Black and White that has appeared a Communique or a Captains Log. Every now and then we might get a brand new ship as well.

Actually Jim according to what you listed the War Eagle is correct. Now you maybe be meaning to say you think it should have a King Eagle but the fact that it doesn't or that the War Eagle is not competitive does not mean the e'version is wrong.

If you want to get down to brass tac the War Eagle is the Romulan Standard Cruiser and the King Eagle is a Heavy Command Unit.

Thanks, Storyelf and Dal! I've got Romulan Border, Romulan Attack, and the six associated booster card sets so I was just wondering if I needed to pick this up. Sounds like I do! Smile

You may be correct.

The back cover of FC:A says it includes the WE and the webstore says it includes the WE.

However, the WE is completely outclassed by the other three ships in FC:A.

Also, the countersheet has two KEs on it. There are no WEs on it.

Finally, the PHOTO in the ADB webstore of what is included in the physical copy of FC:A shows a King Eagle ship card.

Regardless, the player aid card is definitely missing.

Federation Commander Reference Rulebook Is Available from Multiple Venders

"Lieutenant, what the heck is a plasma-D?"

"Looking! It's not in the Romulan border database. Checking the Communique database for an update. Wait a minute, it might be in ..."

"Brace for impact!"

The most requested Federation Commander product, the Reference Rulebook is the complete rulebook players have demanded. This is the complete rulebook, with all of the rules from Klingon Border, Klingon Attack, Romulan Border, Romulan Attack, Tholian Attack, Booster Zero, Battleships Attack, Communique, Distant Kingdoms, Orion Attack, Captain's Log, Hydran Attack, and War & Peace. This includes all of the rules with all of the updates, revisions, examples, expansions, corrections ... all of it!

This does not include scenarios or ship descriptions. It's just the rules, ma'am.

But it is all of the rules, in one book, in order, front to back, with everything added, inserted, edited into the rules, and rewritten to clarify the rules and make them high and tight, ready for battle.

This is a sixth edition rulebook.

It is now available as an ebook from the following sites:

Warehouse 23: http://www.warehouse23.com/products/federation-commander-reference-rulebook

DriveThru RPG: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/127248/Federation-Commander-Reference-Rulebook?manufacturers_id=3528

Wargame Vault: http://www.wargamevault.com/product/127248/Federation-Commander-Reference-Rulebook

It remains in print from your local game store and, if a store isn't convenient, from our storefront: http://store.starfleetstore.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=S&Product_Code=4020&Category_Code=02

No changes to it, correct?
(it was originally released in 2010).

I figured. It's one of the best ePacks ever, so it's good to spread the word.
