Good news!
I have finally managed to sit down and start painting again. A few of the latest efforts were uploaded to the website earlier this evening:
Scoutdad's SFB / Fed Comm Minatures page
Take a look. The latest updates are marked NEW!!!, but feel free to look at any of the images. You thoughts, comments, and suggestions are most welcome. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Very nice pics! I'm going to use some of your color schemes to go by for the few minis that I have. Even with the painting guides available at the starfleetgames.com website, there doesn't seem to be as much detail (i.e. various colors inside the warp engines).
And what's with that Kzinti pelt tucked away inside your list of Lyran minis???

I'm glad you like them. As for the color schemes, I too felt that the posted painting guides were rather blasie. Instead, I just did a google image search for various species of big cat and printed out the ones I liked. I then used those for my painting guides. I'm prepping 3 "alley-cat" War Destroyers that I will attempt to paint like my wife and kids cats... that should be interesting...
The lesser details were all done with an eye towards making thme visually distinctive... (phaser mounts were painted black, then highlighted with med grey to provide contrast - widows / view-ports were first painted black, then white with a thin black outline, and finally yellow - the warp radiators were done in red because I had two really big (4 oz) jars of napthol crimson that I needed to use - etc.)

I spend so much time painting minis for this and other games... and then while uploading the photos, my wife remarked that I have posteda hundred or more photos of my miniatures but never one of her... so I added her photograph to the mix. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

That's pretty funny...not her picture (!), but the way you were able to sneak it in the mix. |

Looking good Tony.
I'm hoping to have a similar large update to my photo gallery in the next few weeks. I've got a bakers dozen of Feds all nearly done. |

I plan to finish the monitor tonight (tomorrow at the latest), and then I have 10 Wyn ships primed and ready to basecoat and about 3 dozen freighters clenaed and ready to prime.
As the freighters will all be sporting differnt liveriers, they will be my fill-ins. Whenever I have a color on the brush that will go on one of them... it will. Whenever I don't feel like painting anything serious... I'll paint a freighter, and so on.
I hope to have another update in a month or so with Seltorians, Wyn, and freighters galore... unless I get totally sidetracked by the new BB's and DNL / DNH's when they come in and decide to paint them. Anybody know where I can find a bottle of Godzilla grey-green???

Nicely done. I've never been a huge fan of Lyrans and Hydrans, but these minis are making me think twice.
I still can't believe the numbers....
I could never hope to match those. _________________ O.G. OPTIMUS

Tony sets a high bar for both quality and most definitely quantity. |

I just did my most of my Hydrans but not happy with them. Used a GM/Chyrsler Blue for the base hull color and it came out way to dark. I ended up using a white fleet stripe to lighten it up a little but I don't know if it worked enough. |

I would be more than willing to email them but I don't have a website for them. Unless there are sites that allow for free accounts to post pictures on. |

I myself use flickr.com -- it's part of yahoo and easy to work with. _________________ O.G. OPTIMUS

I use geocities.com for my website (see the link below). It's not fancy, but it is free an its easy to work with.
I upload the photos with geocities on-line file manager, and then I create the web page template in Microsoft Word and upload it. Bingo - one free web page. And now that I'm approaching the storage space limit on this page - I'll simply create another one and link them together. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro
