I suspect that in most fleet engagements between Hydrans and Lyrans, the ESGs will be used to absorb Hellbore fire. |
How can ESG's absorb damage from a direct fire weapon? _________________ "...You're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater." — Shepherd Book |

5N2e (Booster 0, also check out the Communiques) Anti-Hellbore. Basically the Lyran can declare he is using the ESG in an anti-hellbore mode, declares hoo much power he is allocating, the hellbore will then automatically hit. For every 1 point in the ESG, reduce the hellbore by 4 damage points. |

In short, Hellbores and ESG fields have an unusual interaction for unexplained reasons. It's the only time that ESG fields block a direct fire weapon. But then again, Hellbores are an unusual weapon. |
