I'm really looking forward to seeing GURPS Federation hit the shelves!
(Just to clarify - will this be the GURPS edition's cover?) _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

The Federation rank insignia is now in the form of a jpg. http://www.starfleetgames.com/images/PD/Fed_Rank_Insignia.jpg
I would think, for those of you with assigned ranks, you could probably photoshop it and use it appropriately as part of your sig. Do be sure to indicate where you hold rank (i.e., if it for FC papers, then that is one "place"; if it is your SFB papers rank, that is another "place"). That way any confusion should be minimized. _________________ Business Manager/RPG Line Editor

FC papers and SFB papers (and F&E papers and Starmada papers and Starfleet Command papers) all combine points into one single rank. In theory, a player could go from ensign to lieutenant commander in a single issue by doing one of each that got published.
The FC forum rank (based on the number of posts) is a different thing. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

DONJEBRUCHE TRADING POST
Located on Tafelland, a Class-K planet in Federation Space, Donjebruche Trading Post is an adjunct to the Grenveldt colony. Close to the Klingon border, and near enough to Kzinti space to allow easy peacetime trade, the trading post is a convenient stop for traders and travelers in the area. Being less than a thousand parsecs from the infamous Orion Pirate bastion known as Mad Jack’s Hole, Donjebruche Trading Post has also become a legal point of sale for purloined items that are “laundered” by the Orions and ready to re-enter the market.
Donjebruche Trading Post is a very cosmopolitan “town” (numbering 10,000 people by the time of the General War). The town is fed (literally) by the agricultural community of Groenveldt (which regards Donjebruche as “sin city”, their residents rarely going there). The town of Donjebruche existed before the Federation reached this area and was not originally a formal colony. The legal status of the town is less clear than the official Federation records would seem to indicate, and residents of the town regard themselves more as citizens of Donjebruche than citizens of the Federation.
There are a dozen large mining complexes around the planet, all of them in desert areas. These have populations from a few thousand to 20,000 and are effectively small independent “company towns”. All of their citizens regard Donjebruche as the place to go and have a good time or to do some shopping. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

SVC wrote about PD20M Federation: I cloned the file and converted all of the GURPS stuff to PD20M progress levels. I did numerous checks, as did Petrick. Jean phoned in the last fixes, and Petrick had four final things to fix, and the book was officially finished at 7:09pm. Here's the thing on GURPS.
Yesterday, I cloned the generic files and fixed the TL things.
Today, I'll extract all of the old species stats and send them to Jean. She may take 1d6 days to get them updated and sent back to me, and another 1d6 days to send me the new ones. Then it will take me a day to insert them and reflow pages. Jean also has some stuff to work over in the style sheet situation. Figure a total of two weeks.
Then we send a hard copy to SJ his own self. Figure 1d6+2 weeks until we get a report back from him, and 1d6 weeks to make the fixes and get final approval.
Then we have to "announce the book to the trade" and give them 60-100 days of warning that it's coming out so the wholesalers can compile pre-orders from stores. There are other considerations. We don't want it coming out in the same month as another big book as the print engines cannot handle three at once and struggle with two. No new products are shipped between mid-November and mid-January because the industry doesn't buy new products in that period. And so forth.
So, we could see GURPS FEDS released in mid-November if everything goes perfectly, and in mid-January if not. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Steve and Jean:
Thanks for the info and the work you do for PD. Last fall I ask Jean on the BBS, but forgot to read, or just plain forgot the response. I should've known that you need SJ's approval. I failed my IQ, or Gaming Hobby Knowledge-2 roll on that one!
In the meantime I'll work on my games I'm planning on to run at the next con I'm attending.
Oh, yay my wedding too.. |

I just got a copy of PD20M Federation and I must say this book was worth the wait.
I'm getting so much good info and so many ideas reading it. In fact, I got a really kick-butt idea for my campaign from reading about the Old Kings mysteries.
It's going to be epic! _________________ Please Captain, not in front of the Klingons. |
