I'm going to be taking a crack at the Klingon F-5W and HF-5.
I already have the parts, just need to get some client work finished and order some "greenstuff" putty. |

It's been really quiet here in the Minis section for a while.
Here's what I've been doing:
PICTURE
These are my original Fed CS mod, a new copy of it for myself, and two I did for a client, along with the decal sheet that gets applied to them this weekend. |

I must agree, very nice work. What are you using as your hull base color for those ships? I just discovered FC and will be assembling a Federation fleet as my starting foray into a new level of my metal addiction. (I'm currently addicted to all manner of other metal toys right now)
Thanks!

Thanks!
The two for the client are Testors Model Master gloss white enamel, cut with a bit of light grey.
The two for me are a custom mix of Testors Model Master enamels, essentially a very slightly green light grey (based on Paul Newitt's research into the color of the Enterprise filming miniature). |

I am blown away by the decal sheets. What a lot of details to add to these fine ships.
Please post pictures when they are finished. |

Well, I certainly can't credit for those decal sheets. Those are purchased.
I love using decals, as honestly, I suck at painting. I have really high standards that my hands just aren't able to deliver. I can sculpt and do all kinds of fabrication, but I'm not the painter I want to be. People on this board like Tony T., and other's like John S. and Mike R. are my heroes =)
Re: pictures; absolutely! I'm in the middle of building a webpage gallery to present all of my minis, as I complete them this winter.

Dude... I mean, DJdood...
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I just paint what others have created. It's the master sculptors like John Schneider, Jessica Orsini, and yourself that get my adoring kudos. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I miss Jessica. She's a neat person and has a lot of talent (I learned a lot from her articles and posts). Too bad she doesn't visit the legacy board anymore. |

I agree. I have emailed her several times over the years to probe her vast store of knowledge and she's always been more than willing to provide any assistance that she can. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I finally finished and shipped off my first minis I did for a client. It's the Fed CS minis I modified (same as in the previous post), but here they are with all the decals on, dull-coated, and ready to kick some Romulan butt on the hex-map:

Sweet job. At some point, I hope to build my skills up to that level. |
