				| I think we should have the 1st 4 winners in a bracket and the last 4 in a separate bracket as a compromise. That way there's still some excitement in random matchups and we don't have to be at the mercy of the slowest matchup.
As a note, I'm concerned that the monitor/Kzinti BC matchup will take a very long time. The BC most likely isn't ever going to move within 8 hexes of the monitor and a long range exchange will most likely result in only a few shields a turn worn away from each side that can be rotated away.

				| I'm hoping my game is even slower than the Monitor game
If it isn't then the Fed either got a lucky photon volley or managed to catch me at a range I shouldn't have been at.

On the other hand if all goes well, then my ph2s and pair of so called heavy weapons (TRLs with emphasis on 'L = light') will slowly eat away at the fed shields and finally nobble him in a few months

				| To all ESCALATION! players.
I am preparing to make a last minute trip to Texas (no emergency, just previously unplanned), so there will be no updatign of games in progress until 2/17.

Have a great weekend and a Happy V-day.

				| Tony,
First, Happy Anniversery to you and your bride of enough years that I am not going to say here as she does not look that old!

 Second, safe travels!

 F.E.A.R.:
 1) thanks... but this is 29 years.
Funny... sometimes is seems liek forever (but in a good way
), and sometimes it seems like no time at all.
 2) Double thanks. Drove down straight thru... the trip back we split over two days and enjoyed ourselves.

				| Took the northern route... Nashville... Memphis... Little Rock... Texarkana... DFW... Waco... Fort Hood.

Closest we came to LA was the Shrieveport sign outside Dallas on the return trip.

				| We now have winners in three of the eight games and two more are moving nicely.
The current plan for round two is:
Once four games are complete... match those four winners randomly into Round two games.
When games five and six are complete, those two will be matched up.
When seven and eight are complete, those will be matched up.

This should prevent anyone player from having a seriously long down time between games.

If anyone has a complaint or a better idea, please speak up now.
