SHAPEWAYS HAS FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY AND CEASED OPERATIONS.
This is a complicated situation and we do not have much information other than a few press releases and website articles which don't seem to be complete data. It is unclear if ADB Inc. will ever get paid the last batch of royalties or if customers who ordered from them recently will ever get their ships. I am betting "no" on both counts but that is a guess.

There are lots of kinds of bankruptcies and this is the kind where all employees were terminated, all executives resigned, they turned out the lights and locked the doors. The bankruptcy court will appoint someone to sort out the mess. Someone might buy the assets and Shapeways would disappear, or might buy the entire company and things could get back on track.

It appears that they borrowed $669,000 somewhere and it was due Friday and they filed bankruptcy on Tuesday, presumably because they couldn't pay it. That would seem to mean that they were not making enough profit on sales but that is only a guess.
