Pretty cool.
How did you get the mottling effect? It almost looks like one of those spray-texture paints, but I assume it isn't. _________________

I used a base coat of yellow and then oversprayed (misted) with brown, green and grey. Applied decals and then clear coat.
I added another high-res image of the mauler so you can see the effect a little better. |

Very cool and distinctive - I don't think I've seen anything quite like this on minis before. _________________

Thanks! I just posted my Lyran CA to my site too. I used the same procedure on it, but not as extreme. I used yellow base, some orange from the sides while the top was covered and then some white from the top (you can see the various paint flecks in the images). I then used an exacto knife to scratch some hull plates into the surface. I applied decals and clear coat as with the others.
Note You need to scroll down on the site a bit to spot the CA images.

P.S. djdood: If you manage to make it to an Eastside meetup (http://starfleet.meetup.com/6/), I usually bring along my minis, so you can see them in person. I believe you signed up for this group.

Oh cool! This coming FedCom session is the first I'll be able to attend and I was planning on bringing a few of my in-progress minis to show.
It will be cool to meet you and the other folks. _________________

Howie -
It was cool to see these in person. They look better than the pictures show them. Really cool! _________________
