I don't know how many times that I've drawn these ships, but I never quite seem to capture exactly what I wanted out of them. This collection is my current 'update' for my personal gallery for these ships - which are pretty close to the SFB/FC look anyway.

That's the original design for the Federation Starbase as shown in the Star Fleet Technical Manual. That illustration was the basis for the original SFB starbase miniature. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

As do I - they were the inspiration for my current career. _________________

Yep, everyone pretty much answered the Starfleet HQ question already. I have seen the design used (on a much smaller scale) as a starbase type in various SFU artwork, but nothing consistant. I was pondering redoing it at a scale similar to the K-series starbase, but haven't decided yet.
Speaking of which, is the K-series actually in SFU? I know it's not in the TM, but I'm not sure how that counts as a reference. |

The "K-7" type is not in the SFU.
The Base Station was used everywhere it would have been (note that the linked pic is the painting guide for the SL2200 Bats, which later became the SL2400 BS when the new sculpt was done for the SL2400 Bats). _________________

I'll probably take a stab at the 'old base station' design tonight then. (Once all my girls' Holloween stuff calms down). I've got an older pic I did of it, but it sorely needs cleanup and detail. |

The Battlestation is similar. There aren't a lot of drawings to show the difference, but you could always reference the minis. _________________
