Hmm, that sounds interesting.

I've been very tempted to pick up all the early years stuff lately...

Wouldn't the D4 pretty much look like a D6? Admittedly there is one less phaser in the nose battery and only single disruptor mounts on the engine (just received my birthday present which happens to be a Klingon fleet box - hurrah) but I do't imagine it looks all that different.

A D7C might be nice - I liked the Fed CA/CC changes, and something similar might be nice.

D4 is a little smaller and the front hull plate is flat.

For Starline 2400: Klingon G2, Gorn Police Frigate, Federation A-10 & F-14 fighters. Gorn carriers if the model would be different from the original types converted from. Same for Tholian, I would think that they would differ as the fighter bays are supposed to be external.

Gorn carriers are no different.

Tholians don't sell well enough to make ships with external bays that you could easily just paint on.

Sorry to hear that the Tholians do not sell so well. After the Romulans, they are my favorites.

Federation A-10 & F-14 fighters.

If you check out the SFU Miniatures Painting and Kitbashing Tips Facebook page, there's a couple people who have done step by step conversions of the Federation A-10 and F-14 fighters that look really excellent. If you have a bit of modeling skill it might be worth trying to convert your own. Very Happy

Why?
The miniature for the CA is the CAR+. The +refit adds:
Shield boxes - not displayed on the mini
APR boxes - also not displayed on the mini
2 Phaser-3s - on the secondary hull.

To convert the existing CA mini to a CAR, all you have to do is file or sand off the two bumps for the phaser 3s. It's probably the easiest conversion out there.
And unless you're totally anal about your minis - you don't even have to remove the phaser mounts, just don't paint them as weapons and leave them the same base color as the CA mini is.

There will never be Andros for 2500. The existing 2400 Andros will serve for both scales. We don't sell enough of them for two sets of molds and two sets of sculpting costs. The hard realities of business are what they are.
