|

Hi!
I was wondering how people have found the Seltorian range of ships (wither individually or in squadrons) to play out in FC?
As the first SFU-native species to be featured in a main line FC product (I'm not counting Booster Zero, as it's more of a playtest module) it's interesting to see how they are taken up by new FC players - if they are at all, that is.
For those of you who have started with FC, what do you make of the Seltorian ships and their unique combination of weapons? Do they not interest you (because they aren't a TV race) or whet your appetite for more non-TV races to make the transition?
For SFB veterans, do you consider the Seltorian ships to be a significantly different challenge to fly in FC than in SFB (due to the differences in moving, reinforcement etc)? Does the FC engine suit their strengths, or highlight their weaknesses?
In short, how welcome are the bugs to the game system, in your opinion?

Well, That Selt BC didn't do much to my DN+FF combo (Check my 1-on-1 campaign thread.) Particle Cannons do seem cool though . |

while I think particle canons have potential, I found the ships to be fairly underpowered, especially the light cruiser. bad turn mode, only 3 heavy weapons, split arc phasers and not all that much power. |

Well, admittedly their ships aren't the best, especially against non-tholians (Those sheild crakers are the most energy inneficient weapons in the game). But I don't think too lowly of their phasers. And as you said, Particle cannons do have potential. |

the bigger ships have better phaser layouts. but the light cruier is terrible for saber dancing. those plit arcs are a killer against a klingon, kzinti or just about anyone except maybe tholians.
take that CL, add a PC, add FA arc to the phasers and giveit a C or B turn mode and it will be able to compete. |
