1.) Start with a 5 system chain and put a Base station at the end of each.
2.) Position 2 and 4 are Heavy Cruiser and one or two escort battles. Around 250 in squadron scale.
3.) Position 3 (middle) is only destroyer and frigate sized battles. This battle is always even at around 150 in squadron scale.
4.) For each battle role 2d6 and adjust the BPV of the forces accordingly. The attacker gets to chose his fleet first and the defender then picks his ships based on the adjusted table. If you win a battle you move to the next hex.
Dice Role % of BPV above or below defender
2 -40
3 -30
4-5 -20
6-8 +/- 10
9-10 +20
11 +30
12 +40
Each map can be new with a random roll for terrain if you want to use it.
This system is a quick way to fight it out with actually seeing the end of the game. Also offers a disparity of forces that makes for some hard fights.
Let me know if it works for you.
Cheers,
Christopher. |
