Today I had a bit of time and got a bit motivated to put down the computer games and work on some mini's. Mostly it was stripping/cleaning/priming a bunch of ships and a few other items.

1. Battleships box. Finally got them all ready to go.
2. Random FC Mini's: Mostly Federation but also have an extra Lyran BB there; also and ISC DN.
3. Kryomek Aliens: found 2 that were ready to paint; one had a base coat on it.
4. Half a dozen 40k Space Marine Scouts. Have to figure which army do do them for.

I still have a bunch of Kryomek aliens to strip/paint (the joys of 'used' minis), a pile of FC ships, and some 40k Terminators I picked up about a year and a half ago. I also need to assemble the bases for the FC ships but that shouldn't take too long. Now I have something productive to do on this long weekend.

I have all of my Kzinti's stripped and awaiting reassembly and repaint. I'm still working (over a year now) on getting the detail painting done on my Feds. My Klingons are even further behind. At least most everything has base coats done, or primer at the very least.

I did do some damage control on some Feds that took damage traveling to gaming meetups. The current "Mini of the Month" (U.S.S. Republic Zocchi plastic Fed CA) was a major recipient of TLC, as it had lost one of its engine struts, again. A second brass pin (after some very careful drilling of a second parallel hole) should do the trick. I even managed to not destroy the paint and decal job.

Most of my work lately has been going into what will either be kitbashes or masters (depending on lots of things).

The last week or so has been spent on a detailed drawing of the F-5 mini.

I currently have all of Border Box 3 awaiting my ministrations, as well as the Seltorians fron Border Box 4.

I know I haven't posted any pics of my minis for a few weeks, but I have been hard at work painting and improving my technique. More pics soon, as I have the day off work tomorrow, and plan to spend it far more productively than I would in the office, by finishing off many of the minis that are almost there, and making a start on those Seltorians.

Everything.

I have pretty much all minis from all the 11 races released for FC so far , being worked on (pus a few FASA and kit-bashes). I am finishing the prep / prime step for all of them and hope to start the base coating stage soon. Working in batches makes it go slow but I hope the outcome will be worth it.

One big set back I had is with the white primer. I tried both the Armory and GW sprays with terrible results. Only Tamyia seems to work decently in white.

I have the same issues with those two brands from time to time. I currently have about 3 cans of flat white primer from Walmart... and it's working fine. You might give that a try... at $0.88 a can, you can chuck it in the trash if doesn't work out for you. Smile

I've got three more WYNs to detail out...
Then It's on to the Gorn. (I've got about 6 dozen of them ready to prime)...
I still have 2 or 3 dozen Hydrans airbrushed and ready to detail...
36 of my own 'mechs...
75 'mechs I'm doing for a friend (Origins money, don't ya know...)
and half a dozen or so Magnificent Ego figures for DND.
And I've order a passel of SCi-Fi minis that haven't arrived yet for use in our PRime Directive game.

That's some serious work there. I'm guessing you have an understanding wife?

So what will your Gorn paint scheme be? Standard gray or go for something different?

I've found that the Games Workshop Gunmetal is an excellent color for the Gorn.

For the most part, it'll be a standard grey. I've been leaning towards Tamaiya's gunmetal grey ('cause I happen to have 3 bottles of it...)
Although I do intend to do a command sqaudron in repilian scale patterns.

The BB will definitely receive a special treatment... I'm thinking of doing it in a dinosaur-like sclae pattern (after all, it is a Godzilla class BB)

...and, as it's arch-enemy...

... wait for it....

... still waiting...

I want to paint a Romulan BB like Mothra! Then I can fight out a Godzilla vs. Mothra battle! Cool

The best part of spending 27 years and 1 day married to a gamer. She understands!!!

That's not the half of it though, there are still 2 or 3 hundred SFB minis awaiting assembly / prepping...

GW spray paints are very tempurature/humidity sensitive. It needs to be moderate in both not to clot or wipe off.

Tamiya may be expensive, but is reliable.

I've had very good luck (and results) with Tamiya white primer.

I've got a few things kicking around:

Four nearly finished Klingons (my first non-Fed minis!!!!)
A Gorn BDD and CM (more of my first non-Fed minis!!!!)
A Fed CA variant (small changes to help with another bigger one).

Then it's off to more Klingons!

And a few more Feds with decals pending including some more X-ships.

G'Day

I have some old D7s, F5s and a Klingon Tug sitting on my painting table, undercoated and waiting patiently for more paint. Unfortunately they keep getting pushed to one side as more pressing projects 'need' to be completed.

Cheers

I don't really have any in the works right now, got a few still in the packs but they're duplicates (extras?) that I may get around to painting or may just be on indefinite reserve.
