That's a good way of looking at it.

Just looking for something to yack about (its raining its butt off in Stuttgart today and I'm stuck inside)...
This is a fun kitbash I did just before I left the States. One more reason to buy an extra F-OL...
The Nancy
This job barrows on some techniques I used years ago to make my first AxBC (which I now use as an AxCVA). In that case, I had a couple of old F-S minis with the engines long lost. I had a couple of old NCL engines available, and the rest is history...
The Samantha
I think these guys compare reasonably well to the "official" mini for the AxBC...
The Jean Marie (don't tell my wife)
Not a perfect match, but given the sort of hodge-podgery going on in the WYN fleet anyway, I think its fine that all the details don't match exactly. _________________ Check out my website at: http://www.jgray-sfb.com/

My wife said "What, no racing stripes?", so it sounds like her and your wife would get along. _________________

Scoutdad, awesome work on the WYN's as usual. I knew I had see another set with checkerboard someplace. I need to get myself a Fed Pol and paint it white! _________________ Check out my website at: http://www.jgray-sfb.com/

Love your WYN Jeremy. I got to get working on some of mine!
What'd you use for the "bracing" on the Nancy, styrene? Nice cutting job if so! |

'Bout time you got over here buddy!
Yeah, the Nancy's "modules", "bracing", whatever, is styrene strip cut to shape. Not as hard as it might look - the key is get the styrene built up to form the outer edge of the frame, then use putty to fill in the inside of the frame next to the pod hulls. _________________ Check out my website at: http://www.jgray-sfb.com/

I was about to ask you how you cut out those perfect half-circle holes to mate it to the hull.
Now I know. Putty. Good job man!
Yeah, this board is definitely where the "minis love" is at these days! |
