In which pack is it found, and what is the Fed equivalent.

That ship is not covered by our contract, so it's not in anything.

SkyHawk may come close.

There is no Klingon Bird of Prey in Federation Commander or Star Fleet Battles.

Different universe - there are no movie or TNG ships in the Star Fleet Universe.

Edit: OK, Steve answered first!

The nearest equivilant would be your F5 (Two Distruptors). The fed equivilant is the FFG.

Is the F5 the Klingons' weakest Frigate? I always thought It really wasn't a frigate.

Also, on an unrelated note, is there a reason how Starfleet Command (Based off Starfleet Battles) was able to use the Bird of Prey.

And what is the Skyhawk?

Yes, there is a reason. If you look around at previous discussion threads you will find that SVC explained it all in detail.

Abbreviated version - Starfleet Command had a contract with Paramount to use those ship designs. ADB does not. Ergo they do not use them because to do so would be outside their rights of use.

The Skyhawk is a Romulan destroyer sized ship.

The slightly smaller Seahawk is here to give you an idea:

Starfleet command's bird of prey was an F5. They just used movie ship classes instead of original series classes. And the E4 is the weakest klink frigate, while the G2 is their weakest ship. F5 comes after E4.

There is a smaller Klingon Frigate the E4 "Light Frigate" (It is called a Escort in SFB) is in Booster #5. The E4 is the smallest Klingon Ship of the Line in Fed Com. It is really almost to light to be classified as Warship but as Big E noted the F5 is really a Destroyer wearing Frigate's clothing. Now granted the E4 may be 3 or 4 times the sizes of a BoP but using it as a stand in would give a real good impression of just how lop sided that battle should have been, if, the Enterprise was full repaired and crewed when it went to Genesis.

The closes thing to a BoP in the SFU is probably a G1 Gunboat but those are at least 2 maybe 3 Expansions away. If they even get included in Fed Com at all. Gunboats add a new dimension of what some would call “drag" to the game but others think they are the greatest thing since Shirt Pockets.

Dal -

The G-2 police ship just got added to FedCom via Communique recently.

I agree the G-1 PF is probably the closest SFU equivalent to the "about a dozen men" crew BoP in the movies, but the G-2 is the closest thing going in FedCom right now. It's smaller than the E-4 (but not by a huge margin).

The G2 being in Com 39 slipped my mind but because it is the Police Slug Thrower Version instead of the Fleet's E3 with Heavy Wepons I still think the E4 gives a closer, for lack of a better word, feel to a BoP.

But in the end is all really a matter of peoples making thier own minds up about what would be equal to what...

Good point about the weapons differences. I was mainly thinking size.

Hmm. Mabey the bird of prey should be the E4, but not the G2. The Bird of prey had disrtruptors, not drones.

There was a fan-made SFB SSD that had a design for a Klingon Bird of Prey. I'll try to find a link.

From what I remember, it had 18 total power (without batteries) and 1/3 move cost, 3 phaser-1s, 2 disruptors, a plasma-F, and the cloaking device. In the Search for Spock, they never confirmed that it was a photon torpedo launcher ... and with Romulan/Klingon alliances, it would make more sense for the Bird of Prey to have plasma technology.

Read ADB's web-policy before you post that link here.

Thanks for the heads up. I couldn't find the GIF, so I don't think it's even out there anymore.
