Great work!
I'm not sure why that's not the standard DD for the Fed fleet!
Seriously, an excellent model. Kudos to you, sir. _________________ Let's get DANGEROUS!

U.S.S. Etzel? Named after Admiral P.R. Etzel, I suppose? _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

Since there are some Omega ships here, thought I would post my home printed Maerson fleet. A CA flanked by DD's with 3 flying wing FF's and a gunboat flotilla. Working on Trobrin next.

I see the Maesron PFs are based on the Module Omega 5 cover deisgn, and that you've added discrete platforms to the CA and DDs. Very nice.
Do you have any pics of the individual Maesron ships?
(I wish this forum would let me post the "ae" dipthong - any time I try to, it cuts off the rest of the message...) _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

Reading up on them, I remembered the 'floating platform' for the CA and DD, so I tried to keep that in mind. I hope it's okay to use the images of the gunships from Omega 5, I don't want to cause any issues. Originally, I thought they were frigates until I read more. I will do a DN soon, based off the Module 1 cover art.
I'll try to get some individual close-ups this weekend. |

The Maesron frigate is shown (in its early PF tender incarnation) on the bottom right corner of the Omega 5 cover. Similarly, the Koligahr early tender (a variant of their patrol scout) is the ship just above the Dominator's starboard engine, with six bubbles as opposed to the four bubbles on the Koligahr PFs.
(Adam has a few additional pics of both gunboat tenders: these three pics for the Maesron, and this pair for the Koligahr.)
Rick Smith did a top-down image for the Maesron FF for use on the playtest Ship Card; you can see it in this gallery. Note that the stnadard frigate has a tachyon gun instead of the PF tender's sensor dish, and does not have the mech links mounted to either side.
Omega does have something of a shortage in terms of line art, but I'm hoping that can be addressed once (fingers crossed) we get some formally published Omega Ship Cards in the future. _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

Those are definitely the images I came across, but I am certainly no Adam Turner, his stuff is amazing, so mine will never have that much detail or accuracy, plus my printer's limitations would prevent such refinement as well.
My first test print of a Trobrin CA didn't go to well, but the second just finished and I think it turned out nice. Will post pictures sometime this weekend. |

Managed to finish my Trobrin and a a Probr Steel CA.
The Trobrin were hard to figure out with the lack of art. Using the Omega Playtest SSD's, it just had an outline, so I originally made them with angles. I then came across the bolt frigate from Communique 69, which showed some detail making them look more like cylinders, which is what I liked more. Then in the Omega reference SFB rulebook, they look angular, so I merged the designs together a bit. The red bumps are the phasers, orange meant to represent the implosion torpedo launchers.
The gray Trobrin fleet is a CA, with a destroyer and 3 frigates.
Again, with lack of art I used outlines for the Probr. I found from Nerroth that there was an image on the back of the Omega rulebook that has the nose of these ships as a cone, but I already had these ram things in place, which I think makes it look more intimidating. The green on these are the HEAT's, the raised sections on the back the shuttle bays and the white paint the bridges. I do have 2 destroyers printed, just not painted yet.
Color scheme is obviously made up as well. Thoughts? Comments? Critiques? |

Is that other large Trobrin mini not a second CA? Or do you mean that it is intended to be an FFL? (At present the Trobrin have no destroyer or light cruiser hulls, though I might argue that this could be part of their factional flavour.)
I like the idea of adding connecting braces to the Probr hulls, to show how they are welded together. And the wings look like they are a good size, in that they'd allow for both larger (for the DN) and smaller (for the DD) wings to have enough space to work with. _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

Sorry, been awhile since I've checked this forum. That mid-sized Trobrin was actually a scaling mistake. I need to get back into making some of these. Here is a photo of the Probr together. I did make the CM (CA with Destroyer wings [not in image]) and a Frigate, but haven't printed them. Might do that this weekend. And messed around with a CVS, basically will just have thicker wings for hanger bays.
