Hey guys,
I'll be taking an advanced PHP course in the fall. Anybody have any ideas on what they would like to see implemented into the site? With a little bit more knowledge of PHP after I finish the course, I can probably come up with a better Commander's Circle then we have now.
But other than that, do any of you all have any other suggestions, or ideas? I want to give SVC a list of projects so that he can look at them have him approve the ones he feels will contribute the most to the company.
BTW, I'm almost done updating all the PD pages

I've noticed that when scrolling through a page of a thread, then going to the next page, the orange icons signifing new posts dissapear. Mabey if we could have it so they stay until you exit the site?
Thanks |

I just use the 'search for new posts' option, then use the history button to go back to the search results page...
Ya know, Eric, somthing that makes PHP a little more like Discus might be convenient for some ADB, Inc. staffers and others used to Discus. When you search Discus for new posts, it shows them in a message tree view wiht the first few words of the post. It's an ambitious and off-the-wall idea, I don't know if it's even possible, but a custom interface for SVC & SPP might make their jobs easier. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

I thought about a chat room and second your request.
www.chatzy.com
Eric could set it up. |

Hello,
This is my first post on this forum, new to FC, but not to SFB.
Yes, a Chat Room would be nice, and maybe a New Members Topic for those members who are new to the forum or just want to do a test post.
Thanx

So, what about the chatroom, MJ? Has this already been discussed with SVC in the past? |

I just moderate, I don't administrate. Something like that has to go through Eric to Steve, not me. Sorry. _________________

I do not oppose there being one, but I have no idea how to create it or if it would up our bandwidth charges or anything. If Eric knows how to make one and it doesn't screw up the site, you have my permission.
The odds of you guys having a regularly scheduled weekly RTC with me and Petrick are zero (or less). Same answer to monthly. I do better with time to think through and research my answers. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Great
I will wait to hear from Eric and see what his thoughts are on setting it up.
If there is not anything he can do with his special talents and the ADB website/forum, then I will set up a test room at Chatzy.com and see how it does.
It would be nice if it could be connected to the forum. That way when we check on the forum, we could see if anyone is in the chat room and then stop by. |

I'd suggest you include that idea in your email to Eric. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Is an update of the scenario database on the list of things to get done? The last one posted is from mid-2009. _________________ Mike

I don't think we will be doing a chat room. There are services that do that already (FB, AOL, Yahoo Messenger, etc.) that we don't have to get in that business. _________________ Business Manager/RPG Line Editor
