I realise that Suicide Freighters move as seeking weapons. Does this mean, then, that they can't use accel or decel?
The reason I ask is that if it's allowed, proper use of accel/decel will invariably result in a Suicide Freighter being able to avoid range 1 from its target, and therefore aviod being be tractored by the target.
Also I seem to remember having this discussion before, but couldn't find it.... _________________

Suicide freighters must operate under the restrictions of both freighter ships and seeking weapons. As such, they are fully limited by (4F3a), which does not allow changing speeds. The suicide freighter must plot speed 16 (unless unable to by damage) and may not change speeds.
BTW, as the ship is moving 16 anyway, with a little forethought you can already set up the situation you want. Just make sure it ends the turn before impact two hexes from the base rather than one. So, you still get the effect you want (or don't want ), even though the suicide freighter cannot change speed. _________________
