Interesting...so what else could we put on the back of the counters?

How 'bout monsters? Twisted Evil I could have a lot of fun with a fleet of planet killers or juggernaughts Shocked

Some batches will, some won't.

This time, the two things we NEED to print are F&E 2010 (double) and FCHA (single). Which gave us some choices.

Print them together and get free backside asteroids (better than backside hemoroids, I guess).

Print them separately and actually pay a lot more money.

Print each of them separately combined with other products that are not ready to print, which means delaying these products and probably printing sheets with errors in them.

I think we picked the right choice.

Remember those thin cardstock counters that used to be stapled inside the old-style Captain's Logs?

I'm a wondering if a sheet like that could be produced that would feature hexagons the same size as the hexes on the FC mapboards, but with asteroid images in them? They could have contiguous patterns or small groupings.

Players would cut them out and use sticky-tack to put them on their mapboard(s) (or use nothing at all). There would be no "counter clutter" with this method. They would fit exactly on the existing hex patterns and would be thin enough so as not to interfere with moving ship counters or minis around over them.

Just an idea...

I guess a guy could do it himself using photopaper. It would be thin enough, yet sturdy. It sure would take a lot of ink, though.

You'd need to create two sets of overlays, though, as you'd need one for each hex size and that's not something that can be made reversible.

Heheh! Backside hemoroids!

God the things that I find hilarious when I'm in the desert.

Actually, it would be fairly easy to produce such things.

Cheap way, just run cardstock through the kyoceras.

Better, but more expensive and creates problems, next time we do covers, take a leftover spot and print a sheet of hexagon pieces you can cut out.
