USS Charlemagne NCC-530 is the first mini I finished in 2012. This is my first Federation Destroyer too - I had it mostly done last year but drug my feet on the spelling of the ship's name for so long, I actually finished USS Halsey before this one. I had a mini-fleet back in 1980-81'ish but they were just bare naked plastic. I sure loved them though, but I always wanted to paint and finish them...

Charlemagne is the first one in my new mini-fleet. I used Neale Davidson's drawings (like I do for a lot of my new minis) over at the Starship Schematic Database for inspiration. With finishing Charlemagne, I added a set of Hangar Bay Doors underneath the primary hull via homemade decal, like he had in the drawing - just a little larger and shaped to fit the grid pattern.

That is some amazing work. Love the shuttlebay and the look of the photon tubes.

That url is to your whole Flikr stream and doesn't give enough information for the specific image.

The link your probably wanted to share is:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/74501833@N07/6711106249/
(that's available from the "Share" button on the Flikr page your url points to).

However, I note that even that direct-dial link fails too:

For whatever reason it seems like php and Flikr don't want to cooperate with each other.

Most of us use Photobucket, which embeds to php boards like this quite well.

Like the color on those and especially the detail around the phaser banks. Great job!

Awesome job! I love the deflector grid on the frigate especially! You know what I have found is good for things like that is those Gundam Paint Pens. They have really thin ones, and it doesn't dry right away so if you're trying to get those under details and make a mistake, you can just wipe it away.

Howdy folks!

I took advantage of the Zocchi DN firesale and grabbed 16 of them with the intent to convert them into various ships.
I ended up making 21 ships out of them:
3xFF, 2xDW, 3xDD, 1xSC, 3xNCL, 2xCA, 2xBC, 2xDN, 1xBB, 1xCVO, 1xTUG

For the FF and DW, I used a craft store wooden disc for the hull with some gem-style stickers to make the bridge. I shortened the engines for them as well.

The tug pod, CVO hull and struts, and the warp holding assemblies on the NCL and DW are greenstuff. The BB has been embellished with some weapons turrets to satisfy my daughter Smile

They aren't perfect renditions, just an interpretation of the ship class. For example, If you looked 'below the saucer' you'd see I didn't mod the secondary hull on the CA or BC, so they still carry the fore/aft sensors and the frontal shuttle bay.

Very Happy
