I don't have the Battle Ship module or any of the SSD's. Back in the 80's the B10 was the biggest ship in the game (we called it the floating pig). Is this in the Battle Ship module and is it still the biggest Klingon ship? What is comparable to it if it is still the Klingons battle ship?

In regards to the battle ship module, how many ships are there? Is there more than one type per race?

Thanks.

Yes, the B10 is in FC:BA.
It's still the biggest Klingon ship out there.

Each empire has a battleship that is comparable to the B-10.

As for the contents, there is of course, the double-sized battleship card for each empire... as well as a DNL (light dreadnought) and DNH (heavy dreadnought) for each empire.

Dang! Didn't even see the SFB topic in the title - so I went and gave the Fed Comm answer.
At least Gary has my back and gave the proper SFB answer - Thanks, Gary.

If we're talking SFB, Module R5 gives the Klingons a couple of B10 variants - not least the B10S Stellar Domination Ship type, which Insatiable was finished and put into service as.

The Romulans get two battleship options, too - the King Condor and the K10R Inseparable (neither entered service historically).

Notably, the Neo-Tholian NBBs were real - several served in the M81 Galaxy (using particle cannons) with one (the War Havoc) eventually serving as the basis of the Tholiax open-air colony in the Draco Dwarf galaxy. The Holdfast didn't have one in service, however.

Oh, and if you think the B10S with its fighters and PFs is dangerous, watch out for the Andromedan Devastator Battleship - a sheer monster by its own, with no less than nine hangar bays for carrying SatShips!

(They didn't get to finish the one they were trying to build in the Lesser Magellanic Cloud - but one might dread to think of anywhere the Andros did manage to get these beasts operational...)

And of course, our insane AI friends, the Juggernauts, count as battleships too!

(I almost forgot - in FC, but not quite yet in SFB, the Seltorians used beefed-up Nest Ships with web breakers in place of their six docking bays, to create the immense, world-killing Battlewagons. When planning on cracking Tholian Dyson Spheres, they proved just the ticket.)

Is there any difference in the R5 B10S Stellar Domination Ship and the B10S Space Control Ship in CL #6?

Nobody here has opened a CL#6 in decades but Petrick got one of the reprints and looked this up.

Differences...

CL6 the SFGs are one box, R5 they are two.

R5 added two shuttles to the boom

R5 added the internal PF docking

CL6 has G-racks, R5 has ADD-12.

The Juggernauts have the same move cost as DNs, so technically they'd be DNs. One shudders to think what a BB J.No would look like...

And since BBs are historical in FC, Gary, you may find out what happens to a force attacked by a Devastator... or in the Line of Battle scenario, TWO of them!!

There are empires in the game who have different MC levels for their own DNs - for example, the Worb dreadnought and space control ship have a MC of 1.75, the Chlorophon DN has a MC of 1, the Loriyill DN (and SCS) 1.25 and the Hiver DN and DNH 1 again (well, those bees are an odd case, even for Omega!)

So, in principle, an empire could have a BB (or BB equivalent) which had a MC other than 2...

The question then would be just how big a nut you need to go and crack!

While we're on the subject of movement cost, I have a question (that goes back about three decades); the Federation had the first DN in the game, and the 'original' Fed DN was basically a CC with an extra engine on the saucer. Still had the normal 4 photon torpedoes, and I think 8 ph-1's and maybe the 2 ph-3's. I don't think it had any drones.

Didn't that 'original' DN have a movent cost of only 1 and then it was later changed to the normal 1.5? I seem to remember that way back in the mid-80's...

I got SFB in about '81 and the DN movement cost was 1.5.

From what I can tell, it is the Designer’s Edition Advanced Game Rules which adds a MOVEMENT ENERGY REQUIREMENT CHART. There, cost per hex is 1½ for Fed and Klingon DNs, ¾ or ⅔ for the various CLs, CAs are all 1, and so on. In the Pocket Edition (and the Designer’s Edition Basic Game Rules), they are all 1, as you surmised, if I am reading it correctly.
