Just went over to my FLGS to pick up something else and came away with this little gem of a Booster 92, 'Drone Ships and Escorts'.
Well, I love it when a day turns out like that. What a pleasant surprise! I didn't even know that this product was out yet. I guess I should read the release notes in Communique more carefully!
First impressions are good, inasmuch as you can have 'first impressions' of a simple set of ship cards. The cards have plainly been properly thought through and all the labels like 'Aegis Escort' are present. Interesting ships that add flexibility to your fleet in more ways than one. And I'm glad the Tholian Web PC is now a laminated card
Although I know that the Aegis rules are part of BoM, nevertheless they are pretty straightforward and I can imagine using them just to get the best out of these new cards.
Plus of course the counters have already been released in FC - Hydran Attack.
All in all, very nice - thanks Steve & Co. ! _________________

There are Aegis rules in Hydran Attack I don' think they're full BoM rules. _________________ jmt

The Hydran Attack Aegis rules are complete, I believe. (They look complete to me. The Aegis rules in SFB are much more compli-ma-cated because of certain rules that don't exist in FC. IMO the FC Aegis rules are very elegant.) It's the scout rules that will probably be more elaborate in BoM. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

Ok, I'll bite...why? Reason: working on O-LVS conversion and it has two special sensors in A & B option mounts.
BTW...it is 12:07 15MR10. _________________ HoD K'el

I really like the drone cruisers in Booster 92.
I am not sure of the utility of the Gorn and Romulan escort ships
in Fed Commander without BoM. Against their historical opponents,
these ships would seem to me to be most useful against fighters or PFs.
I don't see most standard Fed ships as drone heavy enough to justify
escort cruisers by their opponents (The BB, DNH and NCD being the main exceptions).
Also, Plasma-Ds seem to me to be overkill against Type 1 drones. |
