I found the rule that says your opponent can chose the shield that receives damage when ship positioning causes your volley to hit a split shield.

Is there a rule that covers the same situation but with marine boarding parties? Can marines board when shields are split? |

				| I seem to remember this question being asked in the forum before. I do not think it explicitly says it in the rulebook anywhere but you treat the transporter action just like a weapon being fired. So the target would get to pick which shield the transporter was coming through. |

Short version. Defender picks which shield is "facing" for transporter activity. Note that if there has already been a decision made during direct fire, it must be carried through transporter activity. (So, if you knock down a shield that impulse, the target can't say the other shield is facing for transporter use. The now down shield was chosen and applies for the whole impulse.) _________________
