I've just recieved War and Peace, and while I'm enjoying it there's a few questions I'd like to ask.
First, when a mothership launches a satellite ship, either by displacement or by transporter, does the sat ship have the same heading as the mothership? I know that (5U6g) covers displacing another ship, but is that the same thing as transporting a satellite ship from inside a mothership?
Second, will Energy Modules count as 'ships' for tournament squadron purposes (under the "minimum of three and maximum of four ships" rule)?
Third, is there any way to damage the hangar bay of a mothership? I know that 'shuttle' hits are allocated as damage points on any sat ships still carried, and if the bay is empty are considered to be 'skips', but is there any way to damage the hangar bay itself?
Thanks in advance for demystifying me. _________________ Don't turn your head to the left, because I'll pass you on the right. Don't turn your head to the right, because I'll pass you on the left. And if you slow down, I'll run right over you. |

Not official but I am willing to bet that energy modules will not be allowed in tournament play. |

While not the official answer guy - I'm fairly certain that the Sat Ships can have any facing upon launch that hte owner desires... or at least that's the way we play it.
We'll have to wait to see the result of the Energy Module v Tourney, bt I'd guess that either they won't be allowed... or you'll be limited in how many you can take.
Hangers are just really big, empty spaces. It's kinda hard to damage a big open space... _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Okay, I found the answer to my first question: 5V1b1 states that sat ships can have any facing upon launch. (been a snake it would've bit me).
Followup question: Does displacement have any effect on turn mode? _________________ Don't turn your head to the left, because I'll pass you on the right. Don't turn your head to the right, because I'll pass you on the left. And if you slow down, I'll run right over you. |

AFAIK, displacement has no effect on Turn Mode or Slip Mode, at least it doesn't in SFB. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

As has been answered, a launched satellite ship can have any facing.

I don't know. I will pass this question on.

No. You cannot damage the hangar bay itself. (Well, short of blowing up the whole ship.) _________________
