Couldn't see this anywhere, against a cloaked target do the pulses get totaled then halved, or do you half each pulse and then add up.

Obvioulsy it makes a difference in the dropping of fractions. 4 pulses at (adjusted) range 11 goes from 2-6-2 to 0-4-0.

I dunno. My intuition is to add it all up then halve it. Which also raises the question, do you halve the damage for each weapon in the volley individually or halve the damage for the volley overall?

terry, you halve the damage for each weapon. Rule 5P3c states that direct fire weapons are penalized by having four added to the range and the number of damage points reduced by 50%. I would be inclined to say that each pulse is halved but I don't think it makes to much of a difference.

savedfromwhat, wouldnt the PPD be one weapon that just happens to have 4 pulses so you add up the damage from whatever number of pulses hit and divide by 2?

That is a great point wedge, I am looking at it with SFB goggles I think. I would have to agree with your logic and say that it should be added together first then halved.

My gut reaction was that you would half each pulse, then add (on the basis of the pulses are representing individual strikes). But I'm not sure, hence the question. I do think it makes quite a difference, against multiple PPDs you can can be looking at a fair amount of damage being lost, and notably all the splash damage.

Since the pulses aren't applied individually, it is the total that is halved. (Note that this is three separate volleys [the base damage, plus both splash values, and each volley is halved separately.) Pulses are not halved individually.
