In SFB, Orion ships carry suicide bombs and will blow themselves up (or at any rate, attempt to) if they are in danger of being captured.
The suicide bomb thing doesn't apply in FC as there are no ship explosions, so does that mean that in FC Orion ships - and bases - can be boarded and captured? _________________ We are Hydrans! NO ONE LIKES US! |

Yes, they can, but note the Emergency Evacuation and Self-Destruction rules. If there is a friendly unit to evacuate to, they can evacuate the crew and then blow up the ship at the end of the turn. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

There are no limits on carrying capacity, are there? I've got this vision of the complete complement of an Orion battlestation that's about to be overrun emergency evacuating by transporter...onto an LR.
Bit of a squeeze.
The big difference with SFB would seem to be that in FC, the Orions can't/won't blow themselves up along with the ship or base; that makes for a much more interesting tactical situation. I may bestir myself to try to write a scenario... _________________ We are Hydrans! NO ONE LIKES US! |

That's the thing. In your own scenario, you can make up the Special Rules yourself. Indeed, in a scenario I am writing at the moment, the Orions can indeed blow themselves up once they are crippled, notwithstanding the availability or otherwise of rescue. _________________

Theoretically, you could fit the crews of a starbase, a couple of battleships, and as many other ships as you wanted in an Armed Priority Transport...
"Lieutenant, you rescued 10,000 crewbeings in an small bulk tanker?! That's incredible! How did you do it??"
