We shall field test the new tourney rules with a Tournament !!

Where: GameWyze, Lewisville TX (near Dallas,
at the Vista Ridge Mall, lower level, next door to
Dillards).

When: Saturday, March 24th, 1:00 pm.

Format: Swiss-style tourney, 2 rounds of 50 minutes
each. Other rules as above by LokiRising:

Quote:

3 ships per player

No battleships
Any published ships can be used (any ship in Captain's Log, Communique, etc.)
Fleet scale

Each player plays two opponents (two games). Victory points are used. Once all are finished, the top three in earned VP's take 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Prizes will
be awarded.

Bring your large-hex maps and large-ship counters
(painted miniatures are welcome too. If everyone
paints their own ships, we may have a painting contest

plan ahead.

Vanessa, would you please send demo-stuff to the
GameWyze location in Plano, TX. (It's already on
your list of venues).

*** Rule changed Mar 19th, 2007 ***

For every five (5) points under the limit of 300 points your fleet
Point Value total has, players get five (5) free Victory Points
(per round).

295-point fleet == 5 free Victory Points
291-point fleet == 5 free Victory Points
290-point fleet == 10 free Victory Points

Remember, you must use the same fleet each round, so players
will receive the same number of free Victory Points for Round 1,
and again for Round 2.

(Note: This helps to explain how a single Heavy Cruiser, for example,
could rout the entire Evil Alliance with the aid of Legendary Captain,
First Officer, Engineer, Doctor, Communications Officer, etc etc etc...)

(Note 2: Players who begin a round with *no* Starships in that round
will forfeit that round, so the 300 free Victory Points player receives
will not be counted for that round... Yelling "I am Kirok!" won't help
you without at least one ship to back your play...)

(Note 3: Players who manage to capture an opponent's *entire* fleet
will, at the end of the round, automatically receive either their normal
calculated Victory Points, or their opponent's calculated Victory Points
plus one, whichever is the highest. Capturing a ship carrying another
ship's crew[s] due to emergency transport/self-destruct, will count as
if that crew's ship had also been captured for purposes of calculating
Victory Points.)

There may be a problem - GameWyze is not listing this event on their calendar. In fact there appears to be 2 events already set for the Vista Ridge store - a WizKids session and a Confrontation session.

No one showed up to play, so the Tourney was cancelled.

Too bad. When I saw the message from JMT saying that the event wasn't listed on GameWyze's calendar I decided to make other plans. By the time I saw Khard's reply, it was too late for me to re-schedule. Crying or Very sad

Maybe next time you can try the Plano store? Lewisville is a small trek for me (no pun intended).
