I know that i can slip then then turn and move into a new hex and then slip again. But what if i brake and turn? Rule (2C4c) says "a regular 60 degree turn resets the sideslip mode" does the break and turn count as a normal turn?

I don't believe anything will reset the sideslip mode unless it is a hex moved straight ahead, at least that is my understanding of it.

A "break" and turn. Do you mean a cancelled movement and turn?

That is a good point, I would have thought that turning resets the slip (so you could slip, turn, then slip again), but if you cancel the forward movement and turn you stay in the same hex. It is possible to rule that means you cannot slip after they turn because a cancelled move does not fulfill slip.

Hmmm. Mike West. Edjoomakate me.

When moving "normally", on a sub-pulse you are turning, you will turn, then move. The turn itself resets the sideslip mode to 0, but the subsequent move then immediately sets the sideslip mode to 1 (thus fulfilling the the sideslip mode).

I guess it is kinda a funky thing. When you do a sideslip, the move itself is the sideslip. But when you do a turn, the turn and move are independent. So, when you do a sideslip, that sideslip move resets the sideslip mode to 0. But, when you do a turn, the turn (only) resets your turn and sideslip mode, but the subsequent move then sets both modes to 1 (thus fulfilling the sideslip mode and fulfilling the turn mode if your turn mode is 1 [e.g. if you are moving at base speed 0]).

When you decelerate on the same sub-pulse as a turn, both your sideslip mode and turn mode are reset to 0, but the canceled move only counts toward your turn mode; not your sideslip mode. Your sideslip mode will not be changed to 1 until your ship actually moves to a new hex.

(Note that I am making the assumption that you meant "deceleration" when you said "brake".)

Movement canceled by deceleration does not count for your sideslip mode.

Check communique #13 and the revision 4 (Romulan Border) rulebook, rule 2B2b, the 2nd paragraph under the example in the left column.

EDIT: Crosspost with MJWest.
