Look at it from the positive perspective.
Instead of it being a one turn game, you get to enjoy the personable aspect of my moderating skill for a bit longer. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Ouch, I'm hurt
Are you trying to suggest that the Fed might have won in that one volley? Pfft, no chance, the turn has gone pretty much exactly as planned. Resistance is futile. The wimpy volley was just a bonus
My only problem now is that I'm presented with a situation I wasn't really planning for, photons fired but barely a scratch on me
On a more serious note, still an interesting game. The Fed has enough power/phasers left to give a good kick in the last impulse if I keep to close, and then he gets them all back for next turn. Plus I've only got 1 photon free turn in which to make my rather light firepower count before I make like a chicken again |

As it stands now we should be finished with turn 1. Waiting for the result of Lee's last move for 8.4 and then offensive fire. I am starting to prepare my orders for turn 2. _________________ Mars needs women |

Updates for Impulse 8 sent to both Lee and Matt.
Once they've hada chance to confirm their veracity, I'll upload the map, ship cards, and Situation Report for everyone to see. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I've already spent several hours pondering this, I think I'm struggling badly now. Every burnthrough hit a phaser, even the non aimed drone hit (ie. 3 phasers lost). Matt may have flunked his photon rolling (which didn't bother me that much) but he certainly more than made up for it on the DAC rolls. I'm now struggling to do enough damage on the fed this turn to make up.
Oh well, I knew the python was a somewhat risky choice |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in SFB the 'leak' (I assume what is meant by burnthrough here) always hits a hull unless there is no hull left. Is this a deliberate change for Federation Commander, or am I remembering wrong? I don't have my rules handy and haven't played against Andros in ages! |

Yeah, they did change things in Fed Com. When you have burn through, on all races and not just Andros, you roll a point on the DAC. Sometimes it's just enough. |

And when firing at PA panels, you get one burn through point per ten damage points if your volley has any kind of disruptor fire added in there, too. _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)
