I was trying to get within range one of the BC, but I was going to execute a slip to leave me out of arc of two PH-1s. However, he accelerated, and I lost priority.
BTW: I think your numbers are off. He is going to take an average of 138 to his shield 1, while I will average 81 points to my number 1. Dice rolls will be the big decider.
My MON's big downfall is having only 4 frames and 6 warp. I will start getting FRAME hits from 10th points fast. |
I forgot the rear pylon P-3s could not fire straight ahead on the BC. _________________ Mike Curtis, FEAR, Copyright 2014 ADB, Inc.

Even though his reactor could have absorbed umpteen more hits from those phasers.. Monitors are tough nuts to crack, especially if you don't whittle them down before charging in for the kill. _________________

I guess it was too much to hope that Eric would stipulate all internal damage be applied to his frame FIRST. Gotta preserve that monstrous reactor _________________

Not that it really matters at this point, but the Monitor player would've been better off to fire PH-3, PH-1, and then overload photons with his limited energy in that order. With 15.5 energy, he probably should fire:
7 PH-3
6 PH-1
6 pts toward overloading photons.
This should result in:
84 pts of damage from Photons
39 pts of damage from PH-1
27 pts of damage from PH-3
Or 150 average damage
Each pt of energy at 0 hexes averages:
7.7 damage PH-3
6.5 damage PH-1
2 damage photons |

Impulse 5 proceeded as follows:
Impulse 5:
Subpulse 2:
FD-1 impacts the #1 shield of the Kzinti BC.
ZD-1 impactes the #1 shield of the Federaiton Monitor.
Defensive Fire Phase:
Kzinti BC pays 1.0 energy tokens to grab drone [FD-1] in a Tractor Beam.
Drone ZD-1 impacts the #1 Shield of the Federation Monitor.
Drone ZD-1 impacts for 12 points of damage… all internals.
DAC roll of 4: Lab (SKIP), Impulse, Torpedo [C}, F Hull (SKIP), R Hull (SKIP), Battery, Shuttle (SKIP), R Hull (SKIP), F Hull (SKIP), FRAME
DAC roll of 6: Phaser [5], Torpedo [ B ], Drone [Z], Shuttle (SKIP), Tractor (SKIP), F Hull (SKIP), Phaser [4], R Hull (SKIP), Transporter (SKIP), BOOM!
Federation Monitor blows up!
FD-1 loses tracking and goes inert.
Kzinti BC wins the match. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Gratz Fred.
Again, my going for the glory ends with me overspending energy and leaving myself wide open. Will I ever learn?
That was fun. |

Congratulations to Fred for winning the match.
Fred will advance to Round 2 where he will be flying a Federaiton Monitor / Kzinti BC combo. Good luck.
And thanks to both Fred and Eric for a game well played. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Thank you Eric for a fun game, and thank you Tony for picking up and moderating halfway through our match. Now, what to do with my new monitor.... _________________

Well, with 4 Round 1 games complete, I'll be selecting match-ups for the first two Round 2 games tomorrow.
That means you better get it in the slipways, duct-tape and bailing wire that sucker back together. Of course, a quick shot of Rally Red wouldn't go amiss, either. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro
