Sorry for all the posts but my friends are rules nazis so I have to ask, when you make your fleet can you use different races or must be same race? In the story are there allies? [/i]

In your own games it can be free for all if you want if you want to play Historical...

Alliance - Federation, Kzinti, Gorn, Hydran, and Tholians (Late War)

Coalition - Klingon, Lyran, Romulan, Seltorians (Late War the came to our Galaxy looing for the Tholians), and Vudar (Renegade Klingon Subject Race mostly fought the Hydrans in the Late War).

Neutrals - WYN, Orion, and Tholian (Early War)

There are no rules about who are allies (just some blurb) or who can fight together, and even 'enemies' fight together at times, espcially where monsters and Andros are concerned. Several empires are known for internal strife and killing each other.

The only rules about fleet compostion concern weapons, Orions, ISC and Andros have certain rules about what weapons can or cannot appear in a fleet how many times.

Mmm that leads to a rule question - ISC can have a numbr of PPDs equal to number of ships in the 'ISC fleet'. If you are mixing empires does the 'ISC fleet' mean ISC ships only or the entire mixed fleet.
