Federation & Empire is set in the universe of Star Fleet Battles. The Grand Alliance (Federation, Gorns, Kzintis, Tholians, and Hydrans) battles the Coalition (Klingons, Romulans, and Lyrans) for control of the galaxy!

This is the Federation & Empire 2010 rulebook, containing the most up-to-date rules and scenarios so that you can explore the intricacies of stellar warfare. It has been fully updated with all published rulings, and includes a few rules from various expansions which we decided needed to be in the main rulebook. (This does not include the expansion rulebooks.) This high-resolution PDF is fully searchable, making it easy to find any rule.

This is only the rulebook, not the complete game. There are no counters or maps.

Federation & Empire Compendium Available

"I remember reading something about that strategy, but where ...?"

Every issue of Captain's Log magazine includes a section of new material (tactics, scenarios, ship, errata, Q&A, rulings) for Federation & Empire, and this 260-page compendium has them all! Every F&E article (indeed, the entire F&E sections) from Captain's Log #20 through Captain's Log #40. These have not been updated or edited from the original publication, and are provided for reference and player convenience. That's a LOT of F&E material, much of it available nowhere else, in one helping. This compendium predates the F&E 2010 Rulebook.

F&E ISC War Rulebook Now Available from Multiple Sources

At the end of the General War came the ISC War. The Inter-Stellar Concordium concluded that the rest of the Alpha Octant was criminally insane and had to be protected from their own dangerous ideas and violent impulses.

This rulebook includes information about the ISC's ships, the Pacification Battle Stations, and the ISC echelon. Also included are exciting scenarios such as "Gathering Winds" (the ISC meets the Gorns and Romulans and it does not go well) and "Driving Winds" (the ISC decides to keep the peace their own way). For the first time you can see the Order of Battle for the Interstellar Concordium.

To play this game, you will need Federation & Empire and the expansions will add depth. It also requires the counters (not included in the digital copy).

Federation & Empire Compendium Part 3 Is Now Available

Federation & Empire players asked for a compilation of F&E information from Captain's Log, putting all sorts of useful information in their hands in one easy book. Compiling all the information from Captain's Log #20-Captain's Log #40 actually took two books, Federation & Empire Compendium Parts 1 and 2. Now that we have wrapped up Captain's Log #50, we have compiled Part 3 with all the F&E information from Captain's Log #41-Captain's Log #50. We even hunted up information from the Captain's Log Supplemental Files.

All of the rulings, Tactical Notes, questions and answers, Ship Information Tables, scenarios, playtest rules, and proposals from those issues are in this handy compendium. Captain's Log #41 marked the release of the F&E 2010 Rulebook, so you will have all the information about it.

These pages have not been edited from the original publication, so you may find an earlier ruling is changed later on. However, with this collection, you will know the why behind such decisions.

Have you ever wondered what Federation & Empire is all about? This booklet is designed to tell you more about the wide-ranging game that so many now enjoy. Federation & Empire: The Hurricane Scenario Available

This is the six-sector version of the classic Federation & Empire Scenario (603) The Hurricane. It originally appeared in three parts in Captain's Log #41, Captain's Log #41 Supplemental File, and Captain's Log #42.

Scenario (603) The Hurricane was one of the scenarios in the Federation & Empire boxed strategic game. It covers the period from the Romulan Invasion of the Federation to the final collapse of the Coalition Offensive at the very gates (well, starbases) of the Federation's capital region. The original scenario was one big thing, but this version (fully updated for all of the expansions) divides the campaign into six sectors (Hydran Front, Kzinti Front, Gorn-Romulan Front, Federation-Romulan front, and two sectors of the Klingon-Federation front). Players can play just one sector for an evening's game, or combine multiple sectors for a weekend of gaming, or spend an entire week on the entire campaign.

This is the preliminary edition of the rulebook for Fighter Operations. It is your opportunity to find problems and let ADB know about them via ADB's BBS. The first person to report each valid issue there will earn a campaign ribbon and also be listed in the rulebook.

When the rulebook is complete (in about two weeks), we will replace this preliminary edition with the finished product (of course, you will get that PDF).

Federation & Empire: Fighter Operations 2016 Rulebook Available

Alert! Fighter Strike Inbound!

Newly revised and expanded, the 2016 edition of Fighter Operations for Federation & Empire clarifies rules from earlier editions. If you are just discovering Fighter Operations, it expands your Federation & Empire campaign with new ships, rules, and capabilities. Here you will find rules for Federation SWAC shuttles, Klingon Swarms, and building your own carrier groups. Two scenarios are included. Four Powers War is the war that set the stage for the General War. Gale Force covers the last great Coalition push during the General War. New Empires! New Ships! New Tactics! New Scenarios!

For years, players have wondered what effect the Lyran Democratic Republic, the Vudar Enclave, and the Seltorian Tribunal would have had on the General War. Wonder no longer! Play these empires and find out for yourself.

The Lyran Democratic Republic is more than just a renegade province of the Lyran Star Empire. It is a vital balance point between the Lyrans and Hydrans. In Wall Cloud, find out what would have happened had the LDR reunited with the Lyrans.

The Vudar Enclave was far different than the Klingons tricked the Federation into believing, but it was still a player in the final years of the General War. They locked up territory in a "neutral" enclave that was secretly much closer to the Klingon Empire than thought. Find out about "The Hole," containing a secret shipyard and fleet. In Static Fog, the Klingons decide to crush the Vudar. In Electric Storm, the LDR and Vudar decide to carve new empires from old.

The Seltorian Tribunal arrived late in the General War and asked the Klingons for a planet where they could set up a base to attack the Tholians. The Klingons were only too happy to have a new ally -- until they discovered the Seltorian secret. In Vortex of Vengeance the Seltorians declare war on the Tholians. In Freak Storm Seltorians, Hydrans, LDR, and Vudar attack the Klingons.

You will need the Federation & Empire 2010 Rulebook and various countersheets to use this expansion.
