Are there any changed to the Rules for the 2011 Tournament?
Are Andros, ISC, LDr allowed? _________________ Once again I have proven that even in the future, your photon torpedoes are built by the lowest bidder.

Thanks. Yeah I found your post about 10 Sec after hitting the post button.
Hey, I am still hoping to get some people interested in a small FC campaign during the course of Origins. Think anyone might be interested? _________________ Once again I have proven that even in the future, your photon torpedoes are built by the lowest bidder.

I'm interested.
Mike Curtis' son, John will be there playign FC. He might be interested.
Jay Waschak will be there - we might be able to interest him, too. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I would be interested in a short campaign if I can find the time for it. |

Since the Origins tourney will involve Main Era ships, why not use the opportunity to play a campaign using Middle Years ships instead?
(Dislaimer: I won't be at Origins myself... which would make any suggestion on my behalf into something of a Tholian-esque "let's you and him fight" thing, sorry.) _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

The rules will be the same as last year.
It is my intent that the ISC and Vudar will be included. Against my better judgement, I also intend to allow the Andromedans. Frankly, there are only two legal forces available to the Andromedans, neither of which seems very scary in this format.
Proposed pre-built squadrons
ISC Squadron 1 (446 points)
CS 150
CS 150
FF 73
FF 73
ISC Squadron 2 (443 points)
CC 220
CL 150
FF 73
Andromedan Squadron (431 points)
INT 265
COB 83
COB 83
Vudar Squadron (440 points)
CC 170
CA 145
CW 125

ISC:
CS+2xCL is definitely the best force available to them.
Edit: 2xCA + FF is pretty good too. Spreads the PPDs across two ships.
Andro:
2xCon, 1 Cobra is better than Mike is giving credit I believe. If I was going, there is a good chance this would be my fleet choice.
There is no good legal Vudar force, though if I had to take one it would be:
2xCW, 2xDW. You can do really well against anyone who forgets that they need to fire when you do and should be good against Kzinti. With no seekers or other ability to deter opponents, it should still get crushed against most fleets. |

Nothing prevents a player from bringing any otherwise legal force they want. These forces were not chosen to be optimized, but rather an "OK" generic example for players who don't want to bring their own cards.
That said, I disagree about the ISC CS+2xCL being the best ISC force (though it might possibly be the second best). The 2xCS+2xFF force was chosen to maximize the PPDs.
As for the Andromedans, I was torn between the provided INT+2COB and the suggested 2xCOQ+COB. They are the only two legal Andromedan forces, and neither one seems very good to me. _________________ Mike Filsinger

I think the 2 CS + 2 FF force would crush the CS + 2 CL force in a head to head matchup.
Do Andro Satellite ships have to have a Mother ship with enough capacity to hold them to show up in a fight? I can't find anywhere in the rules where it seems to be required. If they don't neeed a mother ship, then other legal fleets are COQ+2(MAM/PYT) or 2(MAM/PYT)+2COB |

Will ships from E23 be available for use in the Tournament? _________________ Once again I have proven that even in the future, your photon torpedoes are built by the lowest bidder.

So as long as I don't load photons on Santa's Sleigh, I can use anything on E23, roger.
Does Santa have option mounts... I haven't checked? _________________ Once again I have proven that even in the future, your photon torpedoes are built by the lowest bidder.
