A CALL TO ARMS
This is Mongoose's well-known space combat game, designed for massive battles with dozens of miniature starships. The new joint-venture deal provides for the production of a series of beautiful hardback rulebooks that will bring together the ships of the Star Fleet Universe and the game system of A Call to Arms. This worked very well for the Starmada product line, and should work even better for the much more widely sold A Call to Arms series. _________________ Business Manager/RPG Line Editor

Coolness. I've played ACTA, so if some moderately experienced SFU testign is needed - I'm available (and I work cheap).
I could probably (with enough arm-twisting) be made to agree to accept any renumeration in pre-cast, white metal artifacts. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I've never seen ACTA, but I'm currently playing 2 Conan RPG campaigns- and own mass quantities of their 3rd Ed stuff- and have to say that Mongoose is one of the best!
Can't wait for this one to come out. |

I have an old ISA fleet (buried in a box back in Ireland) for B5: ACtA myself; I even managed to pop over to the UK for a B5 open day Mongoose ran some years back.
I'll be looking forward to seeing how Mongoose decide to present the SFU in this game system, and how they will divide up the various empires/eras/settings on offer. _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

A buddy of mine twisted my arm about a year ago to try ACTA and I was impressed. I've only had a few more sessions since, but I have a feeling that I'm going to have to add a second game night when this comes out. |

Well, OK, maybe occasionally.
I was involved in a group playing this for about four years, from the release of the original boxed set, through several campaigns at a couple of venues until Mongoose dropped the license in 2008. I do have some 'form' with this game.
If you want any help with the conversion, just ask. _________________ We are Hydrans! NO ONE LIKES US! |

I just found it mildly amusing. Ditto on wanting the source. _________________ NOLI UMQUAM VIM TURBARUM STULTORUM DEPRETIARE.

Thanks! That picture is one of a series I did using MS Paint about ten years ago. Sadly, the HDD they were stored on went to silicon heaven and they went with it; I didn't back stuff up in those days
The round green and white thing isn't B4 (I wish!), it's Mongoose's old passenger liner miniature from the B5 TV series. _________________ We are Hydrans! NO ONE LIKES US! |

If you don't have a scanner handy, find one!
And can you post a picture with one or more of those mini's with something to give scale? I know the book back there does it some, but for some reason it's not effective for my eye. A SFB mini or a coke can or such? Thanks _________________ NOLI UMQUAM VIM TURBARUM STULTORUM DEPRETIARE.

Can someone direct me to a link that contains a complete description of a typical turn in A Call To Arms?
I'd like to read a full account of exactly what a game turn is like.
Also, not knowing anything at all about the ACTA game system, I'm wondering if ACTA can be used to play out small engagements, say, anything from 3 on 3 down to 1 on 1? _________________ Mike
