hey
I played a prototype of this at Origins and thought it was fun. I gather that you guys are on the fence about a Euro-type game set in the SFB universe. I would buy it and if it had high production value. I bet it might be a good hook to get new players involved.
For those of you who don't know what I am talking about Merchant of the Federation is a proposed game that some folks had a prototype of in the hall at origins. It basically was a resource collection game set on the federation-klingon border. |

It's basically a train game.
ADB has no record of doing train games, and train games are very expensive to print. (More to the point, since I won't play train games because I don't get to blow up the train, I have no basis on which to tell if Jay did a good game or not, and history has proven that whatever the Origins crowd says has no real relationship to what the market thinks.)
I told Jay that if he found a train game company willing to do a joint venture, I'd do that, but I'm not printing the game myself. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

You've got to appreciate such fun honesty. _________________ NOLI UMQUAM VIM TURBARUM STULTORUM DEPRETIARE.

As a casual player of Train Games (Both TTR and 18XX), and having played MOTF in it's summer of 2012 draft, it's not a train game. It's fun, and pretty, but it's not a train game. It's a pickup and deliver game, and a decent one.
I will say that an SFU map at that scale would be of great interest to many RPGers... |
