It looks like Photobucket has gone from bad to worse and all my images are missing. I'll see if I can re-host my library to something more reliable, this weekend.

Shame. Photobucket used to be a good service.

There have been some hardcore DDoS attacks going on today - hopefully it's a temporary problem related to that?

The complete absence may very well be tied to the big DDoS, but Photobucket has grown increasingly slow, cluttered with ads, and just generally crap for a couple of years now. Stupid, as they have much competition to choose from.

What version of Solidworks was that done in? It looks like a mix of tangent line off and on in places.

I'm working in SW 2016. Just paid my license renewal, so I'll be updating to 2017 soon-ish, but not immediately. I have projects in my pipeline I don't want to disrupt with an update mid-stream.

Tangency is a bit hit or miss in that model. It's so tiny (less than 2 inches) that it really won't matter when 3D printed. It was also done quick, so I didn't stress on it much.

Truth be told, I'm still learning my way through the toolset and interface in SW. I have 25 years of experience in other high-end 3D CAD (CATIA, mostly), but every tool has its own quirks and I'm still figuring out what SW wants in some cases, to get what I want.

I understand. Got my AAS in Drafting and Design from Highline in 2010. Solidworks was one of the programs used.

Too bad I never got a job after that worker retraining stuff. Heck, I only ever had 2 interviews. I won that years portfolio show and had 4.0 in the drafting classes and a 3.8 overall.

I really wish I had a student copy on this laptop I've could have gotten a lot of stuff done for SVC while I've been sick. (Stage 4 cancer)

Very sorry to hear about your health.

I'm a Renton Technical College certificate graduate (RVTI, at the time), winter class of 1990. Been at Boeing since April of that year. Hope to still be there in April of 2034, but there are no tea leaves to read.

ADB posted this in-progress picture of my new digital "sculpt" for the Starline 2500 Romulan SaberHawk HDW on Facebook.
I'm reposting it here for those who don't do FB.

This model is in-review right now. Once reviewed and corrected (if-needed), it should can go into production at some point in the future (hopefully soon!).

Will:
I really like this model and can't wait to get my hands on the production version, but do I have to paint the frog (look it up) and the tab red?
Seems a waste of paint and effort as they will be hidden, one in side the other after assembly! Wink

I'd paint it with adhesive. (Red adhesive, of course. let's not be silly about it!)
But different strokes for different folks.... Very Happy

Another one posted to Facebook and re-posted here.

I added the mating features for the center engine part, last night. Tonight I measure the center of gravity of the finished model and add the stand hole. I'm hoping to get a good start on the Klingon HF5 HDW over the Thanksgiving holiday.

I made a comment on FB, do you want it repeated here?

You can, if you would like. (I did just reply there - for some reason FB wasn't notifying me of subsequent comments on the post)

The "plan" is that all the comments will get rolled up by Jean and SVC (along with all the internal ADB reviewing) and SVC will give me my change requirements.

It doesn't hurt to make sure things get seen though.

Okay, if my swiss cheese brain is working, a heavy plasma launcher gets added with the third engine. Not in the engine but with it. Centerline and attached to the hull. Maybe you can add a half moon feature, above the warp engine, to the assembly.
