Lovely work. Nice, subtle, shading in the saucer "grids". _________________

Brian
Very nice paint jobs there!
What is the base hull colour there? I thought it was like the 'concrete' gray of the TV ship at first in the first pic of the OCL, but in the group shot, I'm not sure now, is it white?

Mark,
Correct. The base color is white (vallejo white). The gray effect is just a lighting artifact as I was not motivated enough to get the lights set up really well for the picture.

Here's a Couple of pictures from a recent game between myself and a friend of mine. The Klingons are mine and the rather beautifully painted federation are my mates. He's done a cracking job of creating a panelling effect on the hulls of his ships and I don't need to mention the bases. Hope you like em, Romulans from me to follow soon along with some individual studies of the ships in the fleets I own.
Klingon D7's and a C9 take on the Federation Heavy hitters.

They are all very nice! The weathering on the Fed LRD in particular is excellent! _________________ Mike

Thanks Guys. I am now thinking of painting my bases in a similar style for all my starships too. |

Indeed. Very cool sense of glow and highlights to the Klingon reactor cooling grilles. _________________

The grills have turned out quite nice. The blue warp engine cooling vanes have a similar look, but the colors wash out a little in the photos and don't show up as well.
The Kzinti is still pretty bright, but not quite the strumpet lip gloss red that comes across in that photo... |
