I have been unable to find a picture of the Fed ships that is up-close and really detailed. I was wondering if the miniatures have the lines on the saucer (the concentric circles and radiating lines) sculpted in, or do you have to do that completely freehand?

Thanks!

Until recently, only the DW (War Destroyer) and the HDW (Heavy War Destroyer) have the panel lines inscribed in the miniature. The newly released CC (Command Cruiser) also has the panel lines inscribed in the miniature.

The earlier, Zocchi plastics (Dreadnought, Heavy Cruiser, DEstroyer, Scout, and Tug) have raised lines to denote the individual panels, but they are so light its hard to see them once the miniature has been primed and base-coated.

Zocchi plastics? I thought they were all pewter? Or are the older models that Zocchi Plastics made pewter as well?

Thanks again!

The Zocchi ones are plastic, made by Lou Zocchi. They are available as individuals on the shopping cart.

Fleet Box 2 (note: *Fleet* box, not squadron box) has all the plastic Fed ships in one box. My understanding is you can get some pretty weird combinations of colors - glow in the dark Tug Wink

It doesn't really matter as they are going to get painted anyways.

Unless you buy the clear ("cloaked") versions...

Just for fun, my son and I pieced together a Federation Heavy Cruiser from our various "Fed Parts Bags" and misc leftovers. It had a Glow-in-the-dark" sucer, while everything else was "cloaked".

If you turned the lights off in the middle of a game, you suddenly saw what saucer seperation looked like Shocked
