|
|
While playing today, I was thinking about how nice it would be to use my e23 ship cards directly on my iPad, instead of printing them out, then marking them. If I could check damage directly on the electronic sheets, then "clear" them after the game, that would be outstanding.
Has anyone thought about doing the ship cards on e23 with a 'checkbox' option which would enable each box to be 'filled' upon taking damage? (and how cool that would really be.)
Just throwing it out there.

It could be done with Adobe Acrobat but it would be very time consuming as you would have to select each box and assign it a "check" feature. |

I've thought about doing something like that a few times, but, as with anything else I probably wouldn't get time to actually do it.
Not to mention you'd have to get permission of ADB. |

Elf,
ADB doesn't mind people doing things, distributing it would be a different issue where you would need permission, but if the ability was accomplished, don't see them having a problem --- |

Did you know it costs money to offer an app through the iStore? The last app didn't make enough money to cover the storefront. _________________ Business Manager/RPG Line Editor

This idea would not need ADB to come up with an app. They would need to approve of someone putting forth the effort then it could be incorporated into the PDF that is already being done. If players don't want to use this feature then the PDFs would print normally. |

I have no idea how it would be done but I'll publish it if somebody does it. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Note that an iPad is going to display no more than one or two cards at a time. This somewhat limits the usefulness of pursuing this considering the open information Ship Card nature of Federation Commander. _________________ Jim Dauphinais, Chesterfield, MO

You could work with three ships easily. You would just swipe your finger and go to page two and three and mark your ships accordingly. Your opponent could look at your ipad if necessary to review your ship.
I will work up two test shipcards for SVC to review and possibly post for those who would like to try it. I will use the Fed NCA (150 pts) and the Klink D5W (148 pts)from the Comander's Circle. |
