I'll enter as well, unless an odd number is going to be a hassle for you. Not sure what empire yet. |

Just had a quick scane down the rules and I didn't see any change to the victory conditions. Given you have moved to a 300pt game are you not scaling back the points required for a win and draw etc? I assume that you will reduce the bars to 20/100 rather than 30/150, although I'm not sure the bars will work very well in smaller games with just 2 ships per side.
As it currently stands even if you crippled all enemy ships in a 299pt force whilst taking no damage yourself you would only get a draw. That seems a bit extreme. |

The the net VP bar needs to remain 30 points to prevent a win being awarded based on the difference in total squadron point purchases alone (the allowed point purchase range has remained 25 points).
However, I will lower the minimum gross victory point threshold from 150 points to 100 points and the per turn requirement under a resignation from 50 points to 30 points.
I am also clarifying the resignation rules to make clear what happens if you have already earned 100 VPs.
As modified:
HOW TO WIN A ROUND
Victory for each round will be determined at the end of that
round based on the following criteria:
Subtract the lower point value fleet from the higher point
value fleet and award that many points to the player with the lower
point value fleet.
At the end of the game, add to that:
10% of the points of opposing ships with internal damage.
50% of the points of any opposing ships that are considered
to be crippled (8B2b).
100% of the points of any opposing ships that are destroyed.
110% of the points of any opposing ships that are captured.
If the points scored by each player are within 30 points of
each other, the battle is declared a draw.
If the point totals differ by more than 30 points, the player
with the lower total "loses" the battle. If the player with the
higher total has earned at least 100 victory points, he "wins" the
battle, otherwise he earns a "draw" (the other player still earns a
"loss").
If one player resigns, he "loses" the battle, and the other
player either "wins" or "draws" the battle based on the criteria
above (Exception: if the "other player" has not earned at least
100 points, he still wins if he has at least earned 30 points for
each Turn completed). _________________ Jim Dauphinais, Chesterfield, MO

We have 9 players.
I will allow a late 10th player if one appears.
If one does not, I will deviate from granting a bye of a win for the first round to the top player from the last tournament since MA1A1DAT and Storeylf tied for first in the last tournament. Instead, I will take a bye of a draw.
REGARDLESS, the following is DUE to me TODAY if you have not already sent it to me:
1. Your real name.
2. Your FC Online handle.
3. Your e-mail address.
4. Your EMPIRE selection.
This information can be e-mailed to me at jimdauphinais@aol.com.
You may also submit your ships selections at this time, but those are not due until this Saturday the 29th. _________________ Jim Dauphinais, Chesterfield, MO

Not quite sure how that helps in practise. The small squadron only has to score 5 pts to qualify for the 30 pt difference. That is a burnthrough on a small frigate. Whereas the larger force has to score 55pts. There is no real difference at all in terms of squadron size affecting things. Making a 30pt difference when the total squadron size is only 300pts is going to be somewhat harder than in a 450pt case, so you may see more draws.
Personally I'd get rid of the bars altogether, it makes it extremely unlikely you will get any draws, and will force the higher pointed side to get stuck in to win, and stops the draw-loss scenario, which as pointed out a long time ago is actually worse for the 'better' side than a draw-draw due to tie breaker points as you currently have (which again discourages fighting in close games).
Any way, whatever. See how it goes.
I take it the Gorn DBC is definately out. |

We can revisit the bars next time around and better vet the alternatives.
Yes, the Gorn DBC is out. I'd like to avoid isolated exceptions. If it is in Reinforcements Attack, it will definitely be available next time around. I am also open to discussing use of Captain's Log and Commuique ships next time around. However, our big challenge is really the limited selections in FC Online. The situation is much better than two or three years ago, but we really need to see the Vudar and ISC added as well as other interesting ships that are now in non-BoM FC such as scouts. The Reinforcements Attack ships in particular would also be helpful to have added because they will help improve the point value granularity of several of the empires. _________________ Jim Dauphinais, Chesterfield, MO

If you go with Romulan and we get matched up you can use the proposed cloak rules in our game and I'm ok with .92. The more playtesting the better. |

The Lyran NCA has two flag bridges, are they considered Leaders?
The Lyran CA has one flag bridge, but I wouldn't consider it a leader. Is there some other qualifier I'm missing? |

Nicole has indicated to me an intention to go with the Romulans unless someone else wants to go with them.
However, Nicole may want to make a change since one of the ships that Nicole selected is a scout which is not valid for the tournament. _________________ Jim Dauphinais, Chesterfield, MO
