|
|
I just completed my first Romulan ship. I spruced it up with some left over decals from Scoutdad. The wings are just crying out for some Rom insignia or flames. The front of the "head" could use some curved windows, which I did not have. I did not do the belly bird; it's beyond my skill level and it won't be seen much anyways.
The window decals don't even come close to matching the windows in the mini. In future, I am tempted to putty in the the divots for windows and stick with the decals (if I can obtain enough for multiple ships).
I wasn't sure what to do with the front of the hull and wing fronts; they are thick enough to benefit from some sort of detailing, but I don't know what.

I REALLY need to make a lightbox...

Very nice!
Have to ask though, is it the differences in lighting that is making the base colors look different, or are they actually different shades?
(I'm suspecting the lighting, but ...) |

Difference in lighting.
I made a lightbox, but all I can find locally are Reveal 100 watt bulbs. I wanted to do the photos w/o using flash, but then the pics are too dark. I used flash, and adjusted the brightness a bit. I really should have brightened up the earlier pics more.
I really need to find some brighter bulbs (150 watt is the max my light fixtures can handle). |

This is a good spot to mention this.
New changes in Communique mean it will start including photos of the best of painted miniatures sent in by fans. (These would qualify.) So by all means, all of you, send Jean your photos and she'll pick the best of them to go into Communique. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander
