My copy of GURPS Klingons finally arrived in the post today. It may take a while for parcels from Texas to Australia to arrive but it's usually well worth the wait.
I only have one silly complaint with this book, which is the best science fiction sourcebook I have ever bought for an RPG by the way, so I suggest that anyone who doesn't have it buy it now!
This is the silly complaint: Early on in the book, Klingons are described as playing a sort of rugby which would put even "the Australian rules" to shame. "Australian rules" refers to a non-rugby football code based loosely on Gaelic football, played professionally in the Australian Football League (AFL). There are two rugby codes which are played in Australia: by far the most popular is Rugby League (which has a set tackle count and 13 players a side), which is played professionally in the National Rugby League (NRL) domestic competition. The NRL is more widely followed in some states and the AFL in others.
This has been a point of useless football trivia brought to you by Mazza .
Anyway, GURPS Klingons is a great book, and now that I have it, I am going to give a proper go of doing some stats for the characters from the "Duty, Honour, Empire" story from the latest Captain's Log. I might even develop it into an adventure and post it here on the boards. |
