|
|
I played SFB in college and we had a blast (no pun intended!) but about 20 years ago we stopped playing as we moved on to other things.
I am coming back to the game! Over the years I have either lost or tossed out my SFB stuff (iratating if you ask me...)
So I just purchased the SFB basic set again and what I wanted to know is where does one go from there? What do you recommend me purchasing and in what order to get back into this awesome game?
Thanks!

Advanced Missions. Advanced Missions will dramatically expand the fleets for all of the base empires and give workable fleets for all seven empires (R2-R8 ). After that, it's where and how far you wanna go.
The natural next points are Modules C1 - C3 the get the rest of the classic empires. But the is just so much, it's easy to be overwhelmed. _________________

This:
Star Fleet Battles product listing
This is a terrific graphic produced by ADB that shows all SFB products to date, and how they relate to one another. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Excellent! Here's that graphic without a link. Suggest you start from the top of the blue section, that gets you the "core" of the game. Then work down from there. You can skip those items that don't interest you, but arguably ever thing in that first section is must have.

One detail worth noting from the above graphic is that the files in italics are considered to be "in playtest", and may be liable to be superseded by "formally published" volumes at some unspecified point in time.
For example, there used to be a playtest Module E1, but it was phased out once Module C5 was formally published. (Of the remaining playtest volumes on the list, I'd be particularly keen to see the material from Module E2 move forward when the time is ripe.) _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)
