Is the rear hull of the Fed CC the same as the rear hull of the (metal) Fed CA? I'm looking at another conversion project, and wanted to make sure I get one with extra phasers on it. Thanks. _________________ O.G. OPTIMUS

As far as I can tell, they are the same, which means the CC rear hull actually has some phasers in the wrong spot. For all of the phasers to have a 360 degree arc, they would need to be on the bottom, but two of them are on the top of the hull, where the forward part of the arc is blocked. |

Yes. Both the CA and the CC use the same rear hull. The only difference is the saucer section. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

The difference (there isn't any really, as pointed out) between them is similar to that between the Gorn CM and HDD (which use the same mini). It's just a matter of filing off (or painting over and ignoring) the unneeded phaser bumps.
For the CA in FedCom (technically, a refitted CA in SFB), keep and paint the two phaser on the top of the rear hull between the engines (their location is why they have the restricted arc).
For the CC in FedCom (and in SFB), keep and paint the two phasers on the bottom (with the 360-degree arc). |

OK. Technically, Will is more correct than is was... but both minis are sold with the same rear hull. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

And if you really want to be thorough, you would need to make two small phasers on the bottom for the ph-3s. Or you can just say they are covered over by the stand hole. |

True. I always assume the stand is hiding them. |
