In Art Trotman's new scenario, 8CM139 Raid on a Lonely Planet, there is a reference to the planet not having an atmosphere and, therefore, there being no effects on weapons fired at the planet or targets on the planet (8CM139d).

I didn't remember there being atmospheric effects for typical weapons in Federation Commander, and a check of the version 6 electronic rulebook seemed to verify this. [There are some effects with some things such as webs and displacement devices, but these are not used by any empire in the scenario or any empire presented as an option.]

Did I miss finding a rule for atmospheric effects for weapons fire?

Nope, that was a miss. When reviewing things it is nearly impossible to perfectly excise all SFB memories, so we all just missed it.

Just ignore the comment.
