Huh? Communications must be garbled. Didn't get that.
Looked through rules and no such weapons officer ability as Gatling Pl-F and no Rom legendary officers until after this turn is over...at least I don't remember any Rom ships with VP's up until this turn.
Ahhhh...I WASN'T responding to the comment about the the Gorns being in for a surprise, if that's what you meant. On that matter I can only say, "we'll see". |

As rules 1.3 are preparing for completion I want to addresss a couple of rules enhancements early.
1. Ground combat: Each empire will start the game with the equivilant of 1 star Legion (army..corp..formation...ect) the Legion will be able to move to a conquered hex and be used to subjecate a planet, the combat rules will be very simplistic, alomost alinged with the Fed Commnader boarding action.
2. Research: there will be a list of researchable items and rules for making others, Item such as the afermentioned [url]Gatling Plasma [/url]is but one, and these items are extremely rare and when researched does not allow each ship to automatically have them, the empire will have to purchases the item one at a time to install to a starship.
3. Spies; this will act as a very unique feature in the game with a hos of NPC's that can be hired and retained by the empires, to gather information, conduct sabotage, or even go against each other...
4. Random encounters: new rules for in turn random events, from new research being found to wormholes to the planet killer showing up!
In our game already the random event table brought a derelict autmoated resourtce mine in deep space to the attention of the Federation it allowed almost 100 PP to be given as soon as the Federation player dispatched one of his FF's to investigate, the Klingons encountered strange sub-space communcations and sent an E-4 to investigate and discovered the outliying borders of a strange Empire (the I.S.C.)
These will be optional rules, as the core rules allow for a pleasant and enjoyable game as it stands, but for the added complexity the optional ruiles will be presented. _________________ Creator Empire campaign rules and Code of War (COW)Expansion.

New Kzinit Legendary Officer Ability:
Officer Class: Weapons
Ability: Seeker Junior Grade
Description: This ability allow the Kzinti ship when firing drones NOT to
announce the intended target of 1 drone being fired. The
Player places the drone as normal but can move the drone
to any opponent of choice, following the Drone rules for
turn mode and speed. THe weapons officer literally has a
manual control at the weapons console that allows him/her
to direct the movement of the Drone remotely. and can be
targetted at anytime against any ship or allowable target.
The Weapons office may at even the last moment before
impact redirect the drone to another target, a true drone.
Senior grade allows for control of 2 drones.

Battle Results:
well on Friday night the 5 admirals of the War College assembled and did bloody battle to each other.
Battle #1 Fed FF VS TSE FF
Finally the two antogonists went into battle after a few months of maneuvering and taking each others territory with no loss, but there is a bitter enmity between both empires, the Mighty United Federation of Planets and the Evil and terrible Terran Star Empire.
The Fed FF crippled the TSE FF, there was great loss of life on the Empiure ship, both captains commanded brilliantly, and on turn 3 a 10 point bomb went off on the Fed FF (see turn 7 results, an Orion agent in the employee of the TSE did this) The TSE FF withdrew and will fight again. The Fed FF received 20 Victory Points, and recorded a win for the UFP.
Battle #2 Rom We and Snipe VS Gorn HDD
The War continues, so far the Romulans have three ships with victory points and the Gorn have three ships with losses..though no causualites.
The Romulans won the scenario which had an asteroid field on the map, the Snipe was crippled, and almost destroyed, but through the expert maneuvering of the Romulan captain it managed to survive, in the middle of the engagement the Snipe was isolated by itself though hidden in the asteroids (cloak voided) the Snipe (the RIS Falcon Dancer Hull 6, Weapons 13, Power 15, Command 12 , General 16) was 2 hexes away from teh edged of the map, and could have easily escaped unscathed, so the Snipe sent a tranmission to the squadron commander in the War Eagle Pallida Mors, asking if the snipe should withdraw, as the HDD would make short work of it, the commander of teh WE sent the message on to romulan high command..the answer, Kill the Gorn at all costs..... The Snipe powered up and fired all its torps, andthen tried to escape, over 150 romulans died on the snipe in the return fire, but...the Snipe survived, as the WE closed in for the kill, the WAr EAgle blew through the HDD shields and slamed a suicide shuttle into it after achoring it with a tractor, the Gorn HDD fought back and scored minor damage, the Gorn HDD escaped into the void......to be continued I am sure. The Gorn HDD was a mere shadow of it's former self. The romulan ships each received VP (20 for the WE and 5 for the Snipe) the HDD received -3....

last nights battle results:
5 admirals
2 battles:
1. Seltorians VS Klingon
Sel NCA, 2FF Klingon 1D-5W, 1F-5W
Seltorians withdrew, NCA was crippled, this scenario was the one where the Seltorian fleet was caught at anchor, the Klingons were allowed 2 turns of free action before the Seltorian weapons came on the line.
The KLingon tactics were sound, but they did not tractor on impulse 7 of turn two to keep the seltorian NCA from escaping. The Seltorian squadron will return, the war between these two continues in it's bloody 5th turn.
Kllingons issued 11 VP per ship
2. Gorn Vs romulans
Gorn HDD vs. Rom Seahawk and snipe
ROmulans withdrew after all threee closed to range 3 and bolted all thier torps. the snipe lost her front sheild and took 12 internals, the HDD lost shield #2 and took 22 internals. Romulans withdrew due to the HDD retaining one f torp, and the Romulans did not wish to continue the contest, orders issued from Romulus instructed all ships to avoid any action that could potentially take them out of ready status for an upcoming Romulan Offensive.
unfortuanlety there were 17 large freighters that the romulans were escorting......7 were lost.

I don't think we even considered tractoring the NCA at the time, until after all weapons were fired on impulse 8 and we realized he was going to get away...with all of his frame boxes undamaged and only 1 non-frame box undamaged. It was SOOOO close. I believe he had plenty of power to out-bid a tractor auction even BEFORE we used all our weapons, but I could be wrong.
