Hey guys. I'm happy to say that this is the first major illustration that ADB has commissioned from me. I hope you all like it, and I'm eager to hear y'all's impressions.

Adam, don't take this the wrong way, cause it's a great piece of artwork adn I wish I was that talented - but I was hoping for something a bit less cartoony (is that a word?) and a bit more realistic. Although, I will still buy a copy. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I can do realistic art. But this is more my style. I'm very rooted in animation and comic book style art, since that's what I trained to do in college. SVC seemed very pleased with it too.
Thanks for sharing your opinion though. Since this is my first big painting for ADB, I really want to know what everyone thinks. _________________ The innocent shall suffer...BIG TIME. |

Well, since this is for PD20, I would figure the cartoony look is perfect ... _________________

Love it Adam. She looks a bit like a slightly older Galtea. |

It suits the D20 books better, perhaps.
But I really hope the GURPS book has a less cartoony art style. _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

Thanks everyone!
I'm just curious, what exactly makes the cartoony art better for specifically D20 Prime Directive?
djdood: Where did you see my Galatea art at? I don't recall posting it over here. Are you on the Scifi Meshes forums or something? _________________ The innocent shall suffer...BIG TIME. |

Because the pre-existing D20-PD art is already more cartoony than that for the GURPS PD books.
The only cover I sort of like for D20-PD is the one for the Klingon book - ironically, the Klingon GURPS-PD cover is my least favourite from that line.
But by far the best cover I've seen in PD so far is that for GURPS Romulans - I love it (please Matt, make a wallpaper of it!) - and the art on the cover of GPD4e itself is pretty nice, too.

Adam -
You posted a link to your Photobucket site a while back (on the legacy bbs, I think). I kept a bookmark to it and have taken a peek from time to time. Always neat to see in-progress stuff from other people.
Where is Galatea available? I really dug what you had up there and at this point I need to know how it ends. |

I like it! I think the comic book style definitely suits the d20 Prime Directive line, and even if it didn't, I just like it anyway. |

I for one, like the anime-style art!
It's a complete departure from your starship art, but still quite awesome.
Gives me hope that PD Fed will actually be released sometimes soon.
