Briefing 2 Middle Years for the Romulans contains Kestrel ships even though the first of them only went into service at the very end in Y160. So it looks like there was a little creative liberty in filling this product. No complaints, I love them, but I do have a question. The KRC appears to be missing the Plasma-D launchers. Is this because the technology was not available until Y165 according to the timeline I see in the G3 Annex?

Yes and yes.

Technically speaking, the only ships that should be available are the sublight Vulture/Eagle/Hawk/Snipe. But that'd be boring, so we didn't do that on purpose. Instead, you get the base warp Vulture/Eagle/Hawk/Snipe and a bunch of Kestels. I tried to get the KC6R done, too, but that didn't work out. Hopefully, it can show up at some point, anyway.

And, yes, there are no Pl-Ds on this KRC because they don't exist yet.

Do note that one other liberty taken was the exclusion of the Hydran Dragoon and Knight. They technically slip in to the very end, but they are not included because they'd just kill the Lyrans and Klingons with their glass rear shields.

I’ve been converting additional SFB ships to my collection of Middle Years from Briefing 2 when I noticed the difference with the plasma-D with my ship card so I appreciate the clarification.
I’ll take a look at the KC6R for possible conversion.
