When an orion ship takes damage from doubling its engines, is this damage permanent or repairable? _________________ Velocity = Victory |

Thats what I thought, my gaming group is insisting they're not because repairing them gives the orions consistantly more energy than any other race. _________________ Velocity = Victory |

Now that's certainly a false claim. No one said that you couldn't repair it because it gives you more energy. It was questioned as to whether it was repairable or no because in section 5L3 is states that the warp boxes are lost and not damaged. You can't repair something that is lost, so the logical conclusion is that it can't be repaired. _________________ "...You're going to burn in a very special level of hell. The damage is repairable.
The use of the word "lost" is being given too much meaning.
And, yes, this means that, with judicious use of engine doubling, Orions can repair engine damage fairly quickly. However, continuous use will overwhelm ships' repair capabilities, as will any damage sustained in combat. _________________

Cool. I'm not even the one in the group that brought this up, but I figured it was a fair question. _________________ "...You're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater." — Shepherd Book |

Except for the Squadron Scale LR. That sickening little ship only loses one engine box each time it doubles its engines, and it has a damage control rating of 4.
Free engine doubling until you finally manage to bust its shields open! |
